Bearpaw

I am very excited to have BEARPAW in my 2009 Holiday Gift Guide because I have grown to adore the footwear so much for myself. Founded in 2001, this companies’ mission was to redifine casual footwear which is made of sheepskin. The focus is on quality, style, design and and attractive price to boot {sorry for the pun}. The brand carries slippers, shoes and boots {in 5 organized and mouthwatering collections} to ensure that when snuggled in at home, walking in the park or hiking in the woods – your feet can be comfortable and protected by sheepskin. So why the fuss about this material? Sheepskin is a natural temperature regulator, thereby keeping feet warm in the winter yet cool in the summer. And, thinking back I had found it odd when I seen some wear sheepskin boots in the summer heat, thinking of how swealtering their feet must be. Yet I know now that because of the sheepskin, comfort is always key.

BEARPAW is intent on doing more than keeping your feet pampered and look great as well. They have partnered with a few Charities to ensure that they are giving back and supporting those in need. BEARPAW has also initiated their own policy for Greener Living, their own motivation for sustainability.

For review, BEARPAW sent me a couple of their boots to review. The first pair is the BEARPAW Crochet, which is a boot that goes mid-calf and has a crocheted upper. The cushioned foot bed of this boot is sheepskin. This material makes the boot feel like a slipper, but with added warmth, comfort {and unlike a slipper – the ability to wear it outside}. The outsides of the boot have toggle buttons, to give it added style. The rubber sole of this boot allows traction and stability when walking on unstable ground {or if you a re just clumsy like myself}. I have worn the BEARPAW Crochet pretty much daily, since I received them. I fully took advantage of wearing this as a fall boot, and it tested to be a perfect choice. Since we continue to have mild fall weather here to this day, I am still wearing this boot daily. I have the Grey color of Crochet, yet it also comes in 4 other fabulous neutral colors.

I also got the BEARPAW Kaska boot {in Chocolate}. It is a a knee-length boot made of suede and plush rabbit fur {it’s one soft boot!}. This BEARPAW boot has a wedge heel, which is a lot more comfortable than I would have first thought. I cannot wait to wear this boot more, when the snow starts falling {doesn’t it just scream ‘walking in the snow’?}. It will keep my feet and my legs warm and comfy, even on the coldest of days. It does up by full length zipper on the insides, and once the laces are adjusted to fit perfectly the first time, there is no need to fuss with them again. I do wish they had a bit more give in the thigh width, as I think those with thicker thighs may not find it as comfortable. Rest assured that with BEARPAW, if you are not completely thrilled with your footwear – they have an awesome satisfaction guarantee as well.
