Aller-Ease Cotton Zippered Pillow Protector

I remember the very daythat I watched a program on Dust Mites and hidden house dangers {as in, fungus and mold}. For lack of a better word {that I will allow myself to say online}, I was completely grossed out! If you weren’t fortunate to have ever seen, or read facts, on it – let me share some info…

  • The average bed can contain up to 10 million dust mites {microscopic bugs!}. I’d show you a picture, but I just can’t do it. If you are curious, do a search {Eww!}. They like to live in your pillows, and eat your dead skin and hair.
And, dust mites are a major cause of asthma and allergies, especially in children and the elderly.
  • Mattresses can double in weight every 10 years, due to microscopic allergens that accumulate inside.
  • Couple this with household pets, and the dander can increase the allergens living in your bedroom with you

So, besides getting a new bed and bedding everyday,
what can you do?
The answer lies in Aller-Ease
{from the American Textile Company} – protective bedding systems which acts as barriers for up to 95% of ‘the Ickies’. They sell items such as pillow encasements, mattress encasements, and pillows. Aller-Ease is the #1 selling brand of protective bedding, and earned themselves the Good Housekeeping Seal. Aller-Ease offers four products to choose from {Original, Microfiber, Cotton and Deluxe}, because everyone has their own comfort level and preference! These four products are each designed with different barrier and filtration technologies, so that each is unique when it comes to comfort, breathability and water resistance.

For review, I got the Aller-Ease Cotton Zippered Pillow Protector. It features breathable material and a microscopic particle barrier to prevent dander and pollen from calling your pillow their own. At first I used this Pillow Protector on my bed, but quickly decided that my daughter needed the nighttime protection {the guilt of knowing that critters may possibly be under her head and not mine, got the better of me}. As for the comfort, I could have easily mistaken this for organic cotton – it’s truly that soft. Needless to say, Aller-Ease gives your head & mind a peaceful {and safe} nights sleep.

Aller-Ease is available in many stores, probably closer than you think {such as Walmart, Home Outfitters & Sears to name a few}. Refer to the website for a complete list of retailers.
