The comments for the Honest Baby giveaway were, by far, the best comments I have ever read! Seriously, I wish I could respond to each and every one of you.
The entry was, ‘tell me your most imperfect parenting moment’ and the responses were priceless.
From not having a diaper and shaking out the old one and using duct tape to put it back on, accidentally running over little fingers with a chair, to standing a kid in the snow and realizing he only had socks on. Those are only a few of the many readers’ comments.
It really reinforces the fact that there is no perfect parent and that it’s life goes on when we do really stupid things!!
And, like it or not – we learn so much from the not-so best of times.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each entrant for sharing their stories. What a fabulous read! If you have some down time, I really urge you to read through these comments.
For easy reference the comments are HERE.
I have randomly chosen 1 winner for the Honest Baby giveaway, though I really do think you all deserve to win!!
#102 is: Erica.
Erica talked about having to pull over on the interstate to fix her kids’ carseat, which had come loose without her realizing.
I was driving and looked in the rear view mirror to notice that Sophia’s rear-facing car seat was a little crooked. I look closer and seen that the seatbelt was undone (that seat in the van was the only one that didn’t have anchors, so I used to use the seatbelt).
I pulled over to the side of the road and realized that Isabelle had undone it! (She had just learned how to ‘do seatbelts’ and had been practicing).
Way to go, Isabelle for being independent but…
I’m so glad I noticed right away, and have since re-arranged all the seats, using anchors. And had a little talk with the Miss Isabelle
Lesson learned for sure, and for those that have older kids – watch the new ‘tricks’ they learn!!
