When Hubby’s gone…

For those that read my blog,
you’ll know that my husband is a clean freak.
Not just overly tidy, but almost a compulsive clean-aholic.
First thing every morning, as soon as he gets out of bed, it is made in the blink of an eye.
Right away, things are cleaned, washed tidied and put away.
Myself; I get up, roll around with the girls, get them breakfast, and have a coffee while I check emails.
Then I play with them some more.
Then, when I am fully awake, I start the day
(which includes the cleaning).
Sometimes his ‘get up and run’ attitude gets to me, as I just can’t function thoroughly without that morning coffee. So, usually I sip my coffee and watch him buzz about. And, usually I get a comment from him, asking for help.
But, I am too nose deep in my morning coffee to hear the whirlwind around me.

I say the bed doesn’t need to be made because I’m just going to get into it later in the day anyway (or maybe in the afternoon for a quick snooze while the Twins nap)
Besides, the doors are all shut because of the Twins, so no-one is going to see {gasp} that our bed is not made.
He has said (and I’m quoting him here)
“So, do you not wipe your bum because it’s gonna get dirty soon again, too?”
Yes, he’s the realistic comedian.

Yet, this morning rush only happens occasionally, as he has a job where he is away from home for long periods of time.
For example, he was home for only one weekend this last month.
So, I only need to put up with the morning buzz very little.

As I got up this morning, I thought of him over my morning coffee. I gazed at the breakfast dishes on the table, and over to the kids tearing all the toys
out of the toy box in the living room.
I looked at he laundry sitting on the stairs
waiting to be washed.

And yes, hubby – I thought of you.

I smirked as I thought of how annoyed you’d be if you seen the Chaos that was our house at 7 am. And now, mid-morning -the dishes have been washed, the toys somewhat put away and the laundry is now safely in the washer.
Yet…I wanted you to know that the bed still isn’t made, and it hasn’t been since you left.

Hahaha this is cute! Love it! I am the exact same way! Used to be like your hubby, still have my days, but I do have days where as long as everything gets done that needs to be done, then what’s the rush? I certaintly don’t make my bed as soon as I get out of it lol this made my day 🙂
