Matilda Jane clothing came about not because the maker couldn’t find cute clothes, she admits there are so many out there. It began when a Mom took a risk, and acted on what she loved to do. {Now there’s one brave woman} Her creations are whimsical, flirty and really hits the mark on girls’ fashion. I love that Matilda Jane can bring what looks to be old fashioned pieces into the present. Not all pieces are created the same, there are plenty of options for bright and lively colors and funky patterns.

When my daughter received some Matilda Jane clothing, it was one of those moments when we both had our mouths open. Inside there was the Lacey Tank Top and the matching Opal Ruffles bottoms. I love the wide leg on the bottoms, it adds a nice flair which makes them original. The lace detail throughout is so beautiful. The color is fresh and new, and the style feminine. This is one of those times when she put it on and took off outside. Not stopping for a pictures, so to see better detail of the top and bottom, refer to the site.

We also got the Daisy Lace Knot Dress, which is stunning to see. A mish mash of contrasting fabrics that somehow fit perfectly together. I like the layered look, and Isabelle wears it over top of the top and pant set mentioned above. It made for a very comfortable outfit that reminded me of an old fashioned rag doll. Gorgeous! She wore this outfit to the local farmers’ market. She was surrounded by artists and vendors, dancing in the middle of it all – wearing Matilda Jane.
All the items fit remarkably well, the sizes are true to form yet I suggest a size bigger (the baggy look is best with Matilda Jane). I see so many mix-and-match possibilities on the Matilda Jane website, eclectic looks that aren’t meant to be stuffy nor pieced together perfectly. And the more I look, the more I love. It’s almost ridiculous that this Mom doesn’t consider herself a designer!

The styles cross into the Adult market, offering looks that are just as chic. And, for the little handsome men in your life, there’s the Mighty Acorns for boys.
Have a Matilda Jane Trunk Show! It would be so fun fun. Plus, the hostess receives discounts on their purchases!
