2014 Month in Photos Album

photo book easy simple

As you know, I've been making and posting my Month In Photos here on My Organized Chaos, for just over a year now. My neighbour first introduced me to this idea, I instantly fell in love with this way of capturing all the best of each month, and easily turning those memories into a keepsake. You see, I love all things 'photo' and the evidence of this is well documented. Up until 2009, I have pretty much every single ... read more

Month In Photos: February 2015

2015-february-monthinphotos-myorganizedchaos

February 2015 is always a stale month, don't you agree? At this time in the year I'm so completely over Winter. Each passing day seems to drag, and all I can think about is Spring and Summer. Month In Photos: February 2015 Yet, thanks to some mild weather, we did do some sledding and skating this month. Then, another cold snap hit and indoors we went, for yet another round of hibernation. In February we played ... read more

Bridge the Distance with Canon – #CanonL

canon telephotos lens review canada

You know the drill, parents. You have kids and you start capturing every moment, most likely before the baby is even born. Then, with camera in hand, you try desperately to snap each new milestone and every memory made from vacations to birthdays and most importantly - the simple everyday moments that shape our lives. Bridge the Distance with Canon This I know all to well. Stemming from the lack of photos of ... read more

Month In Photos: January 2015

2015_january_month in photos_myorganizedchaos

January 2015 is usually such a long and cold month. This time of year is when I typically take the least photos, uninspired by the drab landscape and bored of the white of the snow. Yet, this January, things were a little different. Someone new to photograph? Someone new to cuddle and love? We got a puppy!! I'd like you to meet Charlie - the new baby in the house. He was born on Nov 1, 2014 and came to live with us ... read more

Month In Photos: December 2014

December 2014 month in photos

December 2014 was a month of mild weather and much time spent outdoors. The highlight of the month was, of course, Christmas. Our holiday captures are of onesie pajamas, homemade knitted touques, visiting Santa, silliness, and sweet treats. Traditions done and memories made. In December 2014 we played in the snow, took a holiday train ride, and toured the ice sculptures. We actually did a lot of festive ... read more

Month In Photos: November 2014

November 2014 month in photos myorganizedchaos

November 2014 was insane, as evidenced by the late posting of this month in photos. It was the month when the snow and ice set in, and a general 'blah' fell on Alberta. You can sure tell by my photos for the month, all the greys and whites - just how happy I am to see winter weather. Yet, the sun rises and we need to make the most, just like the photo I took one morning on the way to school. The sun hitting the frost ... read more

Month In Photos: October 2014

October 2014 month in photos my organizedchaos

October 2014 was a typical October for us, filled with last-chance outdoor activities before the chilly weather takes over. This included trips to the corn maze, with school and again with the cheerleading team. Of course, one huge highlight was Halloween, a time to dress up and have fun with good friends. Though, I'm sure the better part of November will be spent trying desperately to stay out of the candy bags. ... read more

Month In Photos: September 2014

September-2014-month-in-photos-myorganizedchaos

September 2014 marked a milestone in my life. For the first time in 10 years, I was to have my days to myself - all 3 of my girls were in all-day school! {insert confetti and party hats here} I do admit to a few moments of panic over where the time has gone and how it truly now feels like I don't have babies anymore. The eyes did tear a couple times, yet for the most part, I'm thrilled. I find I have a tad more ... read more

Off the Grid

canadian-rocky-mountains

This last weekend we spent some time off the grid. We attended a wedding in British Columbia set at a gorgeous mountain resort, so it was a fine excuse to do some exploring in the area that we had been 13 years prior, on our honeymoon. This is the view from my cabin porch one morning, I immensely enjoyed the peace and beauty of Kootenay National Park, over a cup of french pressed coffee. More about our trip to ... read more

Month In Photos: August 2014

August-2014-month-in-photos-myorganizedchaos

JULY 2014 has taken me a long time to publish! While this month has been busy and I'm trying to adapt to back to school, I'd rather believe that we are doing some wonderful things as a family lately - and there just isn't enough time. August was one fantastic month though and by looking at our photos, you could say that it was Isabelle's month to shine. You might notice that August 2014 includes a photo of ... read more

How to Care for your Photos

how-to-care-for-your-photos

With the day and age of digital photos upon us, it's important to remember how to care for your photos. Digital photography is actually just a stage of photography that makes it easier to use and store photos. It is best to get them printed and have your digital records as a back up. There is just something nice about having the real thing to be able to hold in your hands and share with your family and friends. So how do ... read more

Back to School for the Twins Plus One

2014 back to school twins plus one

Today is Back to School! My oldest is now in Grade 5 and the twins just started Grade 1. Myself? I have my days free, a first in 10 years. Yes, there were a few teary moments and it was hectic to get 3 kids settled into 3 different classes in only a matter of minutes. Yet, they are there and I am here. The house is quiet. It's just me and my coffee, and the sounds of the keys as I type. I miss you summer ... read more
