Epcot and Festival

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival – how could you not get excited with a title like that?!

Located in Epcot at Walt Disney World, the festival includes cuisines from all over the world. The entire event is kid-friendly, yet keep in mind that this is a great excuse for couples to walk the festival and take in everything it has to offer.

Epcot and Festival

So what does it entail exactly?

The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which is in it’s 18th year, allows you to sample authentic dishes and great wines from more than 20 regions around the world. The cuisine comes from 270 chefs {including Disney chefs} and culinary stars from across the country. Refreshments come from crafted by brewers and master wine makers.

Yet, food and drink isn’t the only thing on the menu during the festival. There are so many live performances during the festival, both on-stage stars as well as Eat to the Beat concert series. There is also the opportunity to attend culinary demonstrations and seminars by some of the world’s top chefs.

You get a mini passport booklet at the festival, so you can chronicle your travels and get a stamp from each kiosk that you visit. Literally eat around the world since each dish is served tapas-style, smaller servings for a decent taste yet not so much that it’s a full meal.

The prices are more than reasonable, about $4-$7 per item. My suggestion is that you graze all day, so that you don’t get stuffed so fast that you can’t sample items anymore. Yeah, there’s a tactic to this!

A piece of food, with Mussel and Seafood

I really liked the Stuffed Green Lip Mussels from the New Zealand kiosk. To some, it may not look appetizing, yet the garlic butter and toasted breadcrumbs paired with the perfect blend of spices – perfection!

It surprised me when my twins wanted to try the mussels. Their very first taste of this particular seafood, and they absolutely loved it!

I also fell in love with the Italy Kiosk, and the Ravioli di Formaggio all’Emiliana item. Baked cheese ravioli with creamy beef bolognese sauce, parmesean and mozzarella – DIVINE!

I couldn’t help but get a glass of Prosecco with my ravioli, tastebuds in overdrive. That was absolutely delicious!

I could go on and on over the samplings from all over the world, the variety was abundant. Where else do you get the opportunity to try REAL international cuisine, all at one place.

Plus, you got the atmosphere of Epcot. For instance, eating my Italian cuisine while in the Italy section of Epcot? The music, the building, the feel of the Italian atmosphere. It’s beautiful. Then, walk some steps to the next country, and be immediately immersed into the culture and cuisine of that region. There’s nothing like it.
