Blue Haven Resort – Turks and Caicos

Recently I had the upmost pleasure of once again returning to an island which never ceases to amaze me, Providenciales Turks and Caicos. This time I stayed in the luxury boutique Blue Haven Resort, which is on new {and beautiful} marina and just minutes from the islands airport.

‘Luxury’ would be the key word when describing Blue Haven, since it’s the overall feeling you’d get whether you are in your room, at the pool, when dining or at the beach. Newly built just two years ago, Blue Haven Resort is immaculate and completely charming – with not one detail overlooked.

In fact, this resort hits the mark when it comes to my personal ‘favourites’ when it comes to Caribbean Resorts – I place high value on a beautiful beach, impressive suites, delicious food, attentive staff, and immediate access to activities.

First, the suites. Oh, the suites! I’ve come to appreciate and value resorts that give that wow factor for their accommodations. Blue Haven Resort sure did impress me when it came to the two-bedroom suite which I called home while there.

I really should have named this travel review ‘the Suite Life‘ because it’s one for the books indeed.

The two bedroom ocean view suite {1650 sq. ft} is by far one of the best resort accommodations I’ve seen thus far. Upon entry you are met with the most gorgeous full size kitchen stocked with anything and everything a guest could need. Since this resort is not all-inclusive {yet offers a meal plan, more on that later}, having this kitchen is a dream. Not only to have while on vacation, but this is a dream kitchen for a home even!

The kitchen is equipped with any pot, pan, dish, utensil imaginable – one could make some incredible meals in this suite! Also, there’s even a washer and dryer in the suite, which is amazing not only for taking less on holidays but going home with clean clothing!

Of course a full kitchen is not complete without a dining area for 6 and the most comfortable living room area. Remember I said there was no overlooking on details? The bar area even has bug spray and re-usable shopping bags waiting for you, so you can shop at the market located just outside the resort {the resort Spa is located here too}. This market is adorable, has a cafe and with great stock. The prices are very reasonable as well, I found it to be cheaper than the islands IGA actually, which I had stopped at before arriving at the resort.

Running along each side of the main area of the suite is the bedroom areas, each one with a comfortable king bed, TV {counting yet? there are 3 TV’s in the two-bedroom suite}, closet area and full bathroom. One bedroom area offers a walk-in closet and the other standard with more drawer spaces and the other has a full tub and the other a stand up shower.

The best thing about this two-bedroom suite is that if you are staying with another couple, you each have your own completely separate space yet share the main areas of the suite. Likewise, those with children will appreciate that everyone has their own personal space as well {the two bedroom suite sleeps 7, since the couch is a full pull-out bed as well}.

This suite also has one feature which is nothing short of amazing – the views! Ocean view at it’s best! The balcony area is massive with a table and chairs and chaise area, with full views of the private beach, boardwalk, marina and more.

I can’t even count how many times I breathed in the humid tropical air deeply while smiling at the beautiful turquoise waters of Turks and Caicos.

So now that I covered The Suite Life in Turks and Caicos, let’s chat about the private beach – my word!

It’s been a long time since I had a beach all to myself while on vacation, yet chances are you will at Blue Haven. Since it’s a small resort and people come and go as they do while on the island, there were plenty of times when I had the private beach and the pool all to myself.

The sand is white, waters calm; with plenty of seating and views which force anyone to relax and unwind. Yet there is also a water trampoline which kid and adult guests love to play on.

The infinity pool is just the right size and temperature, and has a swim up bar. This is where you’ll find towels for use {no card needed}.

In between the pool and beach is the boardwalk; which offers plenty of seating, with fire pits which are just lovely to use during the evenings. The entire area and the way it’s lit at night is simply beautiful, and a great way to end the day.

There are two restaurants located right at Blue Haven, and there’s also the option of taking the complimentary shuttle to the other restaurants located at the two other sister resorts {Alexandra Resort and Beach House}. I dined at Fire & Ice the first night, and the food was impeccable as was the service.

I recommend the ‘lump crab cake appetizer with avocado guacamole, crunchy fennel salad and saffron aioli’. Yet my friend and fellow blogger Julie, at Sober Julie, had the ‘Serrano Ham on Garlic Bread Tacos’ and they were amazing as well.

We dined here for breakfast as well, and by day or night the breezy atmosphere, service, food and views cannot be beat.

Closer to the marina is Salt Bar and Grill, more relaxed style dining venue and a popular happy hour location for gusts and those utilizing the marina.

On my visit I had the ‘guava and bamberra rum bbq baby back ribs with coleslaw, salad and fries’ – delish!

For those staying at Blue Haven or their sister resorts, you have some options when it comes to dining. Cook for yourself in your suite, and visit the restaurants which have prices on their menus; or Blue Haven and their sister resorts has just released a new dining plan as another option.

Each resort offers an optional daily meal plan for $120 per person, and half price for children ages 12 and under. A daily breakfast credit for adults is based on standard room occupancy and is already included in rates at the resorts. The meal plan includes the breakfast credit and also provides lunch, dinner, and select alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages by the glass at lunch and dinner.

For optimum dining flexibility, guests may choose the number of meal plans that they wish to purchase. For instance, a guest staying for five nights may choose to purchase the meal plan for two days, thereby still having the freedom to sample other restaurants on Providenciales during their vacation. or, utilize that marvelous kitchen in the suites!

With just 35 suites and 16 premier guest rooms, Blue Haven Resort is a luxurious gem that I think would be ideal for couples, families, corporate groups and weddings. In fact, a wedding party and corporate event could easily take over the resort and have the place for themselves – which would make one epic event!

Activities are aplenty for Blue Haven guests, the adjacent mangroves and access to the ocean and channels offer the best in Turks and Caicos eco-adventures. the area offers world-class diving, deep sea fishing, bone fishing, kite boarding, eco-kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding or just plain cruising over to the uninhabited cays located within view.

Offering a beautiful beach, impressive suites, delicious food, attentive staff, and immediate access to activities – Blue Haven is a true Turks and Caicos gem and has earned their spot as one of the Top 25 Hotels in the Caribbean in the 2016 TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards.

I was an invited guest to this resort, yet as always all opinions 100% my own.

  1. Spectacular! I think I could live quite happily on the balcony. What a gorgeous place to stay and in a wonderfully beautiful place too. I’m utterly jealous 😉
