With St. Patrick’s Day coming up, I can’t help but ‘green all the things! When time-crunched or when you have a lack of ingenuity {intricate clover recipe this is not}, it’s perfectly alright to resort to simplicity when making holiday-themed recipes.

It’s like taking a cue from green beer itself, which is incredibly simple yet wildly popular.

Mint Chocolate Cheesecake Cookie Dip is great for the St. Patrick’s Day potluck at the school, a festive dessert for the family – and even for birthdays when you have a ‘green theme’.

I know superhero parties are always popular and this dip can be incorporated into the party menu very easily. So this is a sweet dip recipe that could be extended to parties and birthdays as well.

This is a simple to make mint chocolate chip cheesecake dip is great to accompany a wide variety, and the taste is simply amazing. I even spread this dip over chocolate chip cookies. YUM!


All you need is a few simple ingredients to make this delicious cookie dip recipe. The full instructions are below on the printable recipe card.

  • softened cream cheese
  • unsalted butter
  • icing sugar / confectioners sugar
  • mint extract
  • semisweet mini chocolate chips
  • green food colouring

To Make: Beat cream cheese and butter together in a large bowl, until smooth. You can use a stand mixer with the paddle attachment and the bowl of a stand mixer (on high speed). As well, you could also use an electric hand mixer.

Add powdered sugar, mint extract and drops of green food coloring. Mix well until there are stiff peaks. Stir in chocolate chips, and sometimes I add a teaspoon vanilla extract just for a punch of flavor.

Place in a serving bowl and enjoy!


Serving Options:

I love to use this cream cheese dip with oreo cookies or another favorite cookie. Other options include fresh fruit like apple slices, animal crackers, or teddy grahams. You can also use mint oreos if you can find them at the grocery store depending on time of year.

To Store:

Place the dessert dip in an airtight container or cover tightly with plastic wrap. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
