Fremont Street Las Vegas
Fremont Street was at the top of my list of must-sees while in Las Vegas, after all it’s where Vegas first began. If you think that The Strip has sights, Fremont Street is has even more neon lights and action at every turn.
This street is considered the downtown of Las Vegas, the old part of Las Vegas which is kinda cool yet more seedy that the trendy and polished Strip.
As you’d expect, there’s bars and casinos galore – the famous Golden Nugget is here! You’ll also see plenty of kiosks selling souvenirs, food trucks and street performers.
Also known as ‘Glitter Gulch’, Fremont Street spans blocks and is pedestrian only. If you go, you must stay until sunset when the shows start playing on the underside of the 1,450-foot arched canopy which is 90 feet above the street.
During the 6 minute show, millions of LED & strobe lights synchronize to loud music. No worries on being there at a certain time, the shows play 5-7 times a night, depending on the time of year.
There is also a Zipline that spans the length of the pedestrian walkway, for those that want to be apart of the Fremont Street show rather than just spectate.
I actually don’t have too many photos from our time on Fremont Street, I was too busy gawking at everything around me. Guess that’s a sign of a great Fremont Street Experience! There are plenty of hotels to stay in this area, though we stayed at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, and it was a short trip over.

We missed Freemont Street when we were there, but we did get to see the famous Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
Oh nice! We were driving too fast for me to get a photo of the sign. Still regret not getting one!
Take me there! 🙂
Oh! my I would love to go there, thanks for posting the fab pics 😉
It’s been a long time since we were there! Thank you for sharing!
I have been feeling the Vegas itch lately. I need a get-a-way.
I have only been to Las Vegas once and I didn’t make it to Fremont street. I guess that means that I need to make another trip out there! haha!
I have been to Vegas once and it was a lot of fun!! It was a chance of a lifetime and I am glad I went! Looks like you had fun as well Pretty pictures!
We drove past Fremont St one night and had the kids with us so we didn’t stop. Next time we are there without little kids I plan to check it out.
Wow! So many lights and so much activity! I might get a little claustrophobic, but it still looks like a lot of fun.
I ziplined over Freemont Street!!!! I cannot wait to go back. Next time I want to see that awesome waterslide at the Golden Nugget!
My husband and I went to Vegas last summer. Freemont Street was pretty cool, but I did not like the loud music. It was way too loud for my ears. Have a terrific day!
It is really loud, I would really suggest ear plugs if you don’t like loud noises.
Vegas is only about three hours away for us. I wouldn’t mind spending a weekend there again. It has been a while since we stopped there.
I would take advantage of that!! lol
oh my friend is going to vegas next week and was asking for suggestions for where to go. i’ll send this link to her!
Thanks Brett! I would definitely go again a second time.
Such a neat, bright place to go visit! I lived in Vegas for college and I loved spending time down looking at all the lights on Fremont!
I could stare at that forever! Energizing!
How neat! I’ve never been to Vegas, but one of these days, hubby and I are finally going to make it. Thanks for sharing your pictures!
You are very welcome Erika! We plan on going back as soon as we find time in the schedule!
I love all of the lights on Fremont street. I bet you are too much fun in Vegas. 😉
One way to find out – wanna come next time we go!?
😉
We went to Vegas 2 years ago, but we didn’t get to see Freemont Street because we ran out of time! We hope to go back, and if we do, that is top of the list. Great pics!
There’s a few places on my list for next time too, it’s a place I need to visit more than once!
I haven’t been to Vegas in years!!! It seemed to have changed a it, love it there!
I don’t think it’ll ever change much, despite hotel changes etc. which is part of its charm!
I’ve never been TO Vegas, although I’ve driven through. Freemont Street looks like the place to go while there! Glad you had a good time. 🙂
Oh, you need to stop one day and spend some time. Vegas is so fun!
Hubby and I were just saying how we would love to go one day. Looks like so much fun!
We were talking about it this week too, now to find time in the schedule to go!
All the lights are so pretty! I’ve never been there. Your photos make me want to go.
Something to see at every turn, I urge you to go sometime!
The lights are gorgeous.

Most probably somewhere we would never visit, but i LOVE all the lights.
I just wanted to let you know you mistakenly linked up your Wordless Wednesday on my Toddler Idea Tuesday linky. I am going to have to delete it, but I would love for you to stop by and relink up to WW. Sorry for the confusion. I was a bit late getting my WW up this week.
Thanks, there was no way to delete … 🙁
If we ever visit Las Vegas, I’ll make sure to hit up Fremont Street! Love the photos you took!
Thank you!
