A Mother and Her Daughter at Beaches Resorts

If someone asked me, ‘where do you want to be in 5 years?‘, I immediately think of destinations and eagerly rattle on about my travel bucket list. It’s not the answer most expect, yet it’s evidence of just how much traveling means to me. It’s in my heart and soul and will forever be a top passion.

We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” – Island Routes

Vacations with just my husband and family travel – both are experiences which I think every person must partake from time to time. My husband and I have gotten into the routine of alternating time alone and then family trips, both of which I always look forward to.

Yet of all the travel we have have done, I have always wanted to take a trip with just my oldest daughter.

Of course there was once a time, before the twins blessed our lives, that it was just Isabelle. At that time I was able to devote 100% of my attention only her, just me and my girl. As much as I love our completed family with twins plus one, I have to be honest that at times I miss connecting with just my oldest with no interruption.

When I was invited on a trip to Beaches Resorts in Negril, my gut told me that this was the time. This was my chance to take only my oldest, and have that Mother & Daughter trip that I’d always dreamed of.

When I told Isabelle of our trip {just a couple days before we left}, I could see the excitement. I’m happy to have passed my travel gene down to this little jet-setter, but this news in particular brought a reaction different than sharing news of previous trips. “Just you and me, Mom? Really? … NO WAY!!!“.

A Mother and Her Daughter at Beaches Resorts!

Our Negril Honeymoon Beachfront Grande Luxe Concierge Room {oh la la!} at Beaches Resorts in Negril was amazing! It was located in the 400 building, on the second floor. The buildings at Beaches Negril don’t have elevators, and I did see parents taking strollers up and down stairs, yet if this isn’t for you – do request a ground floor room.

As soon as we walking into the room, one couldn’t help but notice the lovely towel art waiting for us on the bed with ‘Welcome Home to Beaches’ spelled out in leaves. Ahhh, perfection.

The room had rich and beautiful mahogany furnishings and a king bed. There was also a couch that does convert into a single bed, for additional sleeping. The bathroom area featured a separate tub/shower and toilet area and a large sized closet opposite to the sink area. Marble-finished touches are everywhere!

Inside the closet was the in-room safe {did you know Sandals was the first resort to introduce in-room safes? Trend-setter, indeed! The more you know, guys}. The closet offers plenty of space to hang or shelf clothing, as well as an ironing board, hairdryer, extra pillows/blankets and a couple of umbrellas in case it rains.

This beautiful hutch held the large TV, microwave, wine glasses and the in-room refrigerator stocked with sodas, water, beer and juices. In a resort first for me, this fridge is stocked twice a day as well – which is awesome. It also housed the coffee maker with associated supplies that were restocked daily as well.

Each room also has it’s own XBox {my daughter did a dance of joy at this discovery}, and you can borrow games from the Concierge desk. While we weren’t in the room a whole lot for her to play the XBox, it was great for her to use while I showered and got ready for the day or for a little bit before bed. Trust me, parents, this WILL come in handy at some point.

I also need to take this time to thank Beaches Negril for the wonderful welcome presents for myself and my daughter. As well, there was a nice array of foods in our room, on our arrival {thank you!}.

We had a private patio and balcony, with stunning views of both the lush gardens and the ocean. This was a comfortable and relaxing place where I enjoyed my morning coffee while my daughter slept in.

The aura of the Beaches Negril property is very tropical, one of the most lush properties I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. When you arrive at the open-air lobby at the resort, you’d know exactly what I mean. Each path, turn and area you discover at the resort is a tropical paradise. Very clean and well maintained.

Until then, feel free to drool over the gorgeous photos of Negril’s 7 Mile beach that guests of Beaches Negril can enjoy. It was breathtaking and definitely a huge bonus to staying at Beaches Negril

  12. Julie Smith says:

How wonderful that you have a special memory shared just with one of your children! I always tried to find a way to do something with each of my daughters on their own (one went to Disney with me, one went to Los Angeles, and one went to Park City, as well as various other little day trips). I love all-inclusive, and although I haven’t traveled to a Beaches yet, this is definitely a trip to put on my wishlist! Thanks for sharing! It looks as though it was a fabulous adventure!

    • Once long ago my daughter commented that she never gets to hold my hand anymore {they always have to hold onto my twins, since they are still so young}. That hurt, a lot. Now, I jump at the chance to hold her hand, whenever I can. And I love that she still wants to hold my hand. So happy you’ve done this Julie – I’m sure your kids loved each adventure!!

  13. amy lovell says:

This looks just fabulous! IU especially love those swans on the bed! Wow!

  14. I love the idea of one on one time with one child. Lots of ones there – sorry! Great post.

    • Thanks Talya, one on one is so important. Even if it’s a little trip to the store. I have to consciously remember this and do it often with each child.
