Grade Four

Today my oldest starts her journey into Grade Four so here’s the obligatory Wordless Wednesday photo to commemorate the event.

Grade Four? How’d that happen?

While I’ll miss the busy yet lazy days of Summer, I think we all could use a little routine again. Wait, is it too early to start the countdown until I don’t have to make school lunches again? Too soon?

Also, I kind of had a huge back to school fail. What have I done?!

Oh my, this is how we find the years pass us by! Don’t start counting those days yet a Tammi – only count the minutes in each of the days till you hear how her day went… &*> YAM xx

  2. Cute photo! I swear my parents never ever thought to take a photo of me when embarking on a new school year. I survived. LOL I love the way your generation is much more thoughtful, and …the pictures are more immediate now too. Man I sound OLD! ..well, I am.

  3. I hope she has a wonderful year. It’s not too soon to start counting down. I already can’t wait until Summer. I didn’t get to spend enough time with my babies.

  4. Bah ha ha yes, blame Pinterest! It is ALWAYS Pinterest’s fault in my house ha ha ha! Though twenty years from now you should be able to tease her about the way she always brought up the cake incident!

    1. Yes, and I shall do just that, especially when she’s ordering one for her own kids. KARMA baby!!
      😉

  5. My son started 4th grade today also! I agree – it is time to get back on a regular school schedule. I hope your daughter had a wonderful day!

    1. Nice, YAY for 4th Grade!!!
She did have a great day, how was your son’s day at school today?

  6. I feel like I am late to the party…everyone seems to be back in school! My boy will start Kinder on the 9th/10th…I am so nervous! Yikes 🙂

  7. Gorgeous little possum! We have only 2 weeks left in this term, before 2 weeks holiday, then the last term of school, before our big 8 week Christmas/Summer holiday. I’ve already started counting! 🙂

    1. Ahhh, that would be nice. Can I just country hop to take advantage of all the holidays? please?
      🙂

  8. Hi Tammi (via Trish’s WW)
This year is the first my daughter has started school and it’s very hard!
I have two boys, younger, to go through it, hopefully I’ll be an old hand by then!
    Emily 🙂

  9. Down under {In Australia} we don’t have summer holidays as such, only Christmas Holidays which go for about 6 weeks and then there are 2 week holidays three times a year – broken up through out the year.
I really like the idea of a “Summer Holiday” where you get to have time off in one big lot…..and yes Grade 4 – they sure do grow up way too fast. Hope she has a wonderful time – oh I so can’t stand making sandwiches!!!

    1. I like the idea of many smaller ones I think. Takes the pressure off the Summer holidays and needing to squeeze it all in at once. Grass is greener, right?

    1. Ahhh, another Grade 4. I think 3 was really tough, curriculum wise. Someone told me it was the ‘hardest’ of the Elementary years, would you agree?

  10. I have one in 5th grade this year and I wonder every second how that happened. 🙂

    1. Grade 5 .. that just seems a lot older than Grade 4 to me. Like, A lot.
      Ahhh, more panic attacks!!!

  11. Kids grow up way to fast. One day my girls were in elementary and the next day they were in their 20’s. It honestly goes by in a blink of an eye when you come to look back on it. Your daughter is beautiful, I’m sure she’ll have a great grade 4!

  12. I remember Grade 4 as one of the best years in Elementary for me! Hope she has a wonderful year!

  13. ….we got to spend time together this summer….I was sad when school started. Could have used a couple more weeks.

  14. Oh wow! Grade 4?! Isn’t it crazy how time flys? She’s growing into such a beautiful girl! Hope the school year is treating her well so far!
