Cinnamon Bun Cake

While I love them, I don’t make cinnamon buns {from scratch} very often. They don’t take a lot of time to make, yet I seem to have very little time for baking these days, so bring on the easy recipes!

A great example of ‘wow, that was so simple’ is Cinnamon Bun Cake, a recipe given to me by a Mom in my daughters’ class. All the same delicious Cinnamon Bun taste, yet instead with a ‘mix and bake’ recipe. I just love it!

And yes, it calls for a lot of butter. Close your eyes while adding until mixed

Cinnamon Bun Cake

Ingredients

CAKE

• 3 cups flour
• ¼ tsp salt
• 

1 cup sugar
• 4 tbsp baking powder
• 1 ½ cups milk
• 2 eggs
• 

2 tsp pure vanilla extract
• 

½ cup butter, melted

TOPPING

• 

1 cup butter, softened
• 

1 cup brown sugar
• 2 tbsp flour
• 1 tbsp cinnamon

GLAZE

• 2 cups icing sugar
• ⅓ cup milk
• 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350⁰F.
2. Mix all ingredients for the cake together except for the butter. Once mixed, slowly stir in the melted butter and pour into a greased 9×13 pan.
3. For the topping, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Pour evenly over the batter and swirl with a knife. Bake for 32-37 minutes.
4. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the cake while it’s still warm.
5. Enjoy.
