Britax Frontier Car Seat

Britax Frontier Car Seat. As all you parents will know, having kids means having a ton of baby and kid gear. As you well know, I love a multi-use item and Britax has convertible car seat and booster in one product {yet it’s still tops when it comes to car seat safety}!

This is the main feature of the Britax Frontier XT SICT car seat, it can be used for ages 2 and up, for forward-facing all the way up to 65 pounds, and as a booster seat {using the vehicle’s lap-shoulder belt} up to 120 lbs! This means that you can also use a 5 point harness for a longer period of time {versus the weight maximums on other seats}, thereby ensuring safety while traveling.

The twins, at 4.5 years old, were getting too uncomfortable in their convertible car seats. Their knees went beyond the seat edge and the straps were getting tight, much complaining from the ensued. Yet, I still wanted the safety of the 5-pt harness, the safest way for kids to travel in cars.

Britax sent us {and introduced us to} the Frontier XT SICT. It has all the same features and specs of the XT {which my 8 year old uses}, yet it also has Side Impact Cushion Technology (SICT) for advanced side impact protection.

Also, it has an Easy-Remove Cover that can be removed for cleaning without disassembling the harness or uninstalling the seat from your vehicle.

The Quick-Adjust Head Restraint & No-Rethread Harness easily adjusts the harness shoulder height and head restraint without disassembling the harness {I always loathed that with other seats}. This makes it easier as your child grows, and allows for a more accurate and safe fit for the child.

I find this helpful since my twins are at different heights. So, for safety, I can very easily adjust the seat depending on which of my children is going to sit in the seat.

‘True Side Impact Protection‘, means the design transfers energy away from the child into the padded seat during a crash. You’ll notice this from the image of the seat, the side cushioning is a superior feature!

Ask the girls what is their fave and they are going to say the cup holders. For myself, they are comfortable, still in that 5-pt harness and are safe.

Best of all, it might very well be the last car seat we own, since they can also use the Frontier as a booster down the road.
