Things I Apparently Don’t Know About ~ Gummibär

Don’t you hate it when you have NO IDEA what a certain character is, yet they are very popular with the kids and you feel so old?

Yep.

I thought I was introducing my kids to a new-to-them character when I presented Gummibar: The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa on DVD. They were thrilled and exclaimed that they loved him! … Oh.

Apparently my girls are all very familiar with Gummibar. He is a green gummy bear that gained world wide attention with his YouTube hit ‘I’m a Gummy Bear’. I had no idea. Apparently there’s something about his underwear? or his bum? Did I have my Mommy Earmuffs on and get that wrong? Am I close?

Again, I have no idea. Yet I do know that this DVD was watched a few times since then, so parents don’t necessarily have to ‘get it’ or be a fan themselves and sing along. It’s just something the kids like right now, it’s sill, funny and cue.

It’s also a Christmas DVD, and the holiday season also happens to be right around the corner … pssst, that’s a hint. Actually, you better write that down, we’re old. We are oftentimes unaware, forget and mishear things. Apparently.
