September brought about a change, school started and it immediately dropped in temperature as we headed toward Fall. I noticed another change as I was grocery shopping last week – I was prepping my cupboard for more comfort food recipes. You watch, there’ll be a noticeable lag in the BBQ recipes in the Recipe Box and more slow cooker, soups and roasts. Mmmm, comfort food, one of the perks of Autumn!
It was perfect timing to get a boxful of Clubhouse Flavorful Recipe Mix, I smiled at some of my favorites that I have been using for years. Yorkshire pudding and the gravies to name a couple. After much thought I decided on the Flavourful Creamy Parmesan Chicken Penne. The recipes are on the packets, and all I need to shop for was some half and half cream {not something I usually buy}.
It was a busy day for us, so I pre-cooked the chicken breasts that morning, such a time saver for when I rushed in the door many hours later. A few simple steps, and later we had a wonderful dinner. Actually, I was so happy that it took little time to make, not only were we starving but while cooking the smell rivaled that of our favorite pasta restaurant! I followed the directions exactly, yet added some mozza cheese in it as well. Mozza and pasta just seem like a perfect fit, right? Who can say no to Double-Cheese Chicken Penne?! 
My picky I-only-like-cheddar-cheese-on-my-noodles kids even ate it! I was doubtful that they’d eat more than a few bites since they aren’t tomato fans, yet they scarfed it down and requested it the next day as well. #Winning

I actually just picked up the Flavourful Hickory BBQ Ribs Recipe Mix at Loblaws on Saturday they had an in-store coupon B2 Gravies G1 Flavourful Mix FREE so I said what the heck we’ll give it a try! Rib night is Thursday so we shall see how the fam jam enjoys the new recipe I will be using *excited* I have two children – one who will try anything and the other is a “I only like xxxxx” type of kid so I am bursting to see if she will like the new rib recipe as she has only ever had my normal ones which are quite plain (until I slam them with adult hot BBQ sauce once I dish her up lol)
