When I got the itinerary for the #DisneyinHomeBloggers Event last month, I squealed with delight. A big part of my excitement was because the event was covering the release of Finding Nemo 3D, due in theatres on September 14th.
For those who need a Finding Nemo refresher, it’s the story of a fish named
ChicofabioNemo and his Dad, Marlin. They are separated and try to reunite with one another with the help of Dory, a fish with short term memory loss.
Before the Finding Nemo 3D movie starts, there’s a special Toy Story Pixar short, Partysaurus Rex, staring Rex and the whole Toy Story gang. It’s hilarious, entertaining and full of fun and catchy dance music. Actually, I think it’s one of the best short’s that I’ve seen. Have a preview:

Finding Nemo is a movie that we watch as a family often, one of mine and the kids’ all time favorite Disney films. I know I’m not alone either, as it’s the fourth highest grossing animated movie of all time. Watched in homes for almost a decade, it really is so nice to finally see it on the big screen again, especially in 3D.
Why watch it in 3D?
The effects are amazing, I guarantee that you notice details and aspects of the movie which were missed the last 3, 7 or 15 times that you watched it. Captured in 3D is the depth and details of the surroundings, especially the vast ocean. You will notice scales on the fish and see the texture of the coral for instance. In return, the color is incredibly vivid and all the beauty of the ocean seems to dance right in front of you.
The 3D aspect is unlike most 3D movies, as ‘things’ don’t actually pop out at you. This 3D movie doesn’t intrude on your space like other 3D films, yet instead everyone is brought INTO the film and into the story with the characters. Brilliant idea, since even the younger kids won’t get freaked out by the 3D aspect. The way Pixar made Finding Nemo in 3D just puts the entire experience and emotion of the film, on a whole different level. Seeing Finding Nemo in 3D really made me appreciate the movie, Disney and Pixar even more. Incredibly done, it ‘so totally rocks, dude!’

I want to take my little guy to this so badly but I know he would NEVER sit through it. He’s still too young for the theater. That being said there will definitely be a Finding Nemo DVD under the tree this year!
Yes, it comes out just in time for the holidays, we’ll be getting it as well. How old is your son?
He turned 3 in June and he is one busy little boy so I doubt he would sit down to watch it all. The only thing he does sit down to watch is Barney… Poor me lol
I can’t wait to take my neice and nephew to watch this in 3D…its one of my favourite kids movies!
I’d love to see this in 3D
We took the kids to see the original but to see it in 3D must really make it a spectacular experience! Can’t wait to see it!
I’m fairly certain I’m more excited to see this than the kids.
We’re such big Nemo fans in our house — I hope we can see it!
