Biotrue‏ Multi Purpose Solution

TRUE STORY!

I have been a contact wearer for almost 20 years. It wasn’t until I had the twins, that wearing my contacts became a problem. Somehow my eyes changed, but what doesn’t with pregnancy, right? Basically, after a couple of hours of wear, they became so uncomfortable that I’d have to remove them. Therefore, for the majority of the past 4 years, I’ve been in glasses {not happy about that}.

Yet, I prefer wearing contacts for special occasions and especially on trips. Here’s a brief overview about this solution:

• It has a pH that matches tears, so with a pH of 7.5, Biotrue is designed to cause little change when introduced to the eye to reduce any discomfort. This pH also helps with disinfection.
• The solution contains Hyaluronan (HA), which is a lubricant found naturally in the body and eyes and can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. When used in Biotrue, HA helps keep lenses moist and comfortable by forming a moisture-rich cushion that lasts all day. Studies show HA can last on lenses for up to 20 hours.
• It’s made with a bio-inspired formulation.  Like tears, the special formula helps to keep beneficial tear proteins active and to remove denatured proteins (or ‘bad’ proteins) which can build up on lenses and cause blurred vision.
• Biotrue also uses a dual-disinfection system that helps fight germs and eliminate more than 99 per cent of harmful bacteria, keeping eyes clean and healthy and on your family.

The release claimed it was new and bluntly put, spectacular. Since I had nothing to lose and a whole lot to possibly gain, I eagerly accepted. My Biotrue bottles came at the perfect time too, since I had 3 press trips planned that month, and I really wanted to be able to wear my contacts for all of them. In other words, I had very high hopes and even higher expectations for this product.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have worn my contacts most days this entire past month {a first in years}. Plus, each day I’d wear them for 10+ hours, sometimes 14 hours. It wasn’t until I took out my contacts at the end of the day, that I’d remember that I was even wearing them at all. I didn’t even have to re-clean throughout the day or anything. WOW! So, it’s contact solution, and here I am hyping it up like the next best thing to sliced bread. Yet for those who have super-sensitive eyes, this is a huge deal in enjoying everyday life. It’s about health and comfort while wearing contacts, something that I thought I’d never have again. So, to me this is a pretty big deal.
