Whoever coined the phrase, ‘Summer holidays‘ obviously didn’t have kids and a hectic schedule. I’m exhausted! Don’t get me wrong, I love the Summer months; the days in the sun and all the great seasonal activities that come with it. Yet, we are literally on-the-go from sun up until long after sun down. A holiday it really isn’t {just chaos without school}.
On those days {which is most}, where we aren’t home until just before supper – there’s that mad rush to prepare something. Anything. I try to meal plan as best as I can, yet sometimes I’m staring at the freezer right at dinnertime. You know that situation well, right?
Cue the Hot Dogs!
I recently tried a ‘new dog’ on a very busy day, and not only was it quick and easy. But, it was also incredibly delicious.
I tried Turkey Franks by Butterball!
When I first bought them, I questioned why I always reached for pork or beef hot dogs. I mean, I love the usuals, but why don’t I serve turkey ones more often?
They really are great tasting and huge in size. As well, they have a lot less fat, no MSG and are lactose & gluten free. Adding Butterball Turkey Franks to the menu along side our other favorites breaks up the monotony from time to time. Did I mention less fat? We could all use that from time to time as well.
So, on one particular busy day, grilling up Butterball Turkey Franks for dinner fit into my schedule perfectly. Being the {lazy} dogging days of summer, I just added some fresh veggies and fruits to our plates. Dinner – done!
With such an easy cleanup, in no time I was relaxing on the deck and taking the in last sunny hours of the day. I then ‘got it’ – this is the ‘summer holidays’ everyone is talking about. Easy and delicious, I’ll do this more often!
