One of my tips for saving and maximizing money is to collect reward miles, a great way to earn perks on your purchases. My very first rewards card ever was AIR MILES, yours as well? You can collect points at so many stores and get nice bonus points on purchases as well. Though friends of mine redeem regularly, I have to admit to being a saver for that ‘big trip’, and I’m getting close!
Now you can be rewarded for picking up office supplies and school supplies. Yes, I had to mention the dreaded ‘back to school’ didn’t I?
This summer, Staples and the AIR MILES Reward Program are offering even more value to customers in Alberta. Beginning July 4, Staples shoppers, who are Alberta residents– can earn AIR MILES reward miles on their Staples purchases in store and online.
To celebrate, Staples and AIR MILES donated “Summer FUN-damental Packs” to Boys and Girls Clubs of Alberta this past Wednesday in Calgary. These packs were filled with top Staples items to keep young minds engaged this summer.
At this “Stuff Some Fun into Summer” event spokespeople from Staples, AIR MILES and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Alberta were there to officially open the event and host fun family activities for those whom attended.

Sadly, I could not attend the event, yet I was still given a special pack from Staples and AIR MILES {thank you!}. Inside were many of the same crafts and activities from the event, of which my kids have been busy having fun with this very rainy week in Central Alberta {a list of all the enclosed items is below}.
The face painting kit? Genius! Summer is THE TIME for facepaint, my kids ask some often. This particular brand is a great one too, the paint is hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and includes a step-by-step guide {ideal for those non-artists like myself. heh}.
My daughters especially liked the Crayola Colour Wonder Stow & Go Studio and the stickers. They spent hours making masterpieces for me, plus these products gave me the idea to gift them for a couple birthdays this month.
Even though it’s summer holidays, I’d like my oldest to keep up with some learning, but who wants actual homework? Each day she reads and was excited to see the Workbooks and Subtraction Flash Cards in the package. These will come in handy for road trips this season as well.
For my own Summer Fun this rainy week, I have been loving the Kobo eReader. It’s easy to set-up and navigate; plus the design is built well as it just feels comfortable in the hand while reading. Yep, while the kids take a break from the outdoor sun with some crafts, mama is putting up her feet and enjoying a good ebook. Here’s proof of the event, which deserved some angelic haze for effect:
{reminder to self: that me-time was NOT a dream}
The rain clouds are supposed to part by the weekend, followed by a heat wave. This is my chance to take the kids and the SONY 14.1 MP Camera outside again to enjoy local activities. I don’t think I need to explain how a camera is ideal in capturing all those summer memories, do I? #obviously
As you can see, there are so many products at Staples to put a ton of fun into summer … and all the while, you can now collect those AIR MILES reward miles as you shop = #Score
Staples and AIR MILES have also created a special “Stuff Some Fun into Summer” pack for one lucky Canadian My Organized Chaos reader!

This woud be wonderful to win!!
Would love to win this for my grandkids.
We plan day trips and water games. Any way to stay cool and occupied.
We are keeping busy with lots of picnics and beach days!
Day trips
To keep busy this summer, we will be going camping as much as possible!
My grandchildren love to play with crafty items, anything with paper, scissors, glue, stickers are great. They also love to decorate my driveway with sidewalk chalk.
Family vacations to see grandparents are on our list! Hoping for beautiful weather!
We are learning our letters and numbers, going to the park/beach, going fishing and doing some travelling to see family, friends, and Thomas the Train, of course!
I am keeping the family busy with park visits, crafts and anything else that comes to mind…hehe
We have decided to let my oldest daughter (10) go to “work” with my better half during the week to teach her responsibility and money management. He runs a store front (family business) and he takes her there for a couple hours a day. She sorts the fruit, sweeps the floor and other tiny tasks. She gets $25.00 a day and at the end of the summer she will have made just over $800.00 which she says she plans to only spend $100 on something she really wants and the rest she is going to put into her education fund for college (what a kid!).
My youngest (7) stays home with me while her sister is at “work” we play games, do crafts and paint our nails while they are out. When they get home we like to take bike rides, go for family walks (if it is not too hot) and the girls signed up for the TD Canada Trust Book Club this summer and are excited to read and learn over the summer before they go back to school.
We will probably take a few small weekend getaways, camping, theme parks and water parks to break up the rest of the summer!
Lots of day trips, crafts, and public pools. Plus some camping and a trip to sesame place. Fun summer ahead!
I would love to win this for my daughter, this would be great for our next trip to the beach!
