There are some things I’m sure of in My Chaotic Life
- I am going to #BlogHer12 early next month.
- It’s being held in NYC – and will be my very first trip to the ‘Big Apple’
- That my style and fashion is more suited to a chaotic life of living in Alberta and having 3 kids {two being Twinado Toddlers} and not to strutting the streets of NYC. It’s true, I have let my busy life get in the way of taking care of me and making sure I felt good from head to toe.
Side tip & Word to the wise: never Google ‘Fashion for NYC’ if you are style-deprived. Keep in mind we are not necessarily walking that runway… are we?
Is it right to picture this when dreaming of my upcoming trip to NYC and seeing all my my online besties again?
**le sigh** . I need a help!
I heard about a contest hosted by Microsoft Windows to win a $1,500 style makeover in NYC by a {right now top secret} celebrity stylist, receive a new PC and more – and I knew I had to enter.
Really, this would be THE dream makeover of a lifetime and really earn bragging rights as being the most incredible first time in New York City, ever. Who wouldn’t want the chance to have a stylist let alone in the top fashion capital of the world?!
To show why I need this style makeover intervention, I made a little video of my life and current {embarrassing} choices for attire. Y’all wouldn’t want me to wear these, right?
.
What would I want my reimagined look to be like? Modern, stylish, confident and still comfortable. Is there such a thing?
If so, I think it would look something like this, which is still versatile enough to chase after twins plus one, right?
And for something more dressy, I really like this:

I should probably mention that I have worn 3 dresses in my adult years: wedding dress, graduation dress and a bridesmaid dress. Should I pack them? Will adding a flower pin to one of my tops help? With all the talk of ‘cute dresses’ being packed for NYC, I’d love to be one that joins into the conversation rather always shying away.
Disclaimer: In writing this post, I’m entering the Microsoft Windows Style Makeover Sweepstakes for a chance to win a head to toe makeover! (official rules here)
Keeping my fingers, toes and high-school-sweaters-that-should-have-been-tossed-years-ago – CROSSED!

HOW AMAZING!!! Now, not to say that you NEED a makeover… but after seeing your video, you certainly DESERVE one!
(Okay I lied. Maybe you need a makeover. Friends don’t let friends walk around in Roots sweatshirts. Especially not in NYC.)
BEST of luck Tammi!
Hahha!!
Remember we were discussing months ago that I’ve never worn the color Coral? If you thought you were shocked then, you should look in my closet. It’s pretty sad…
wait – I just showed you! lol
Cute, very cute Tammi! Good luck!
Thank you so much!
Oh, and I will be in NYC for blogher. Hopefully we will run into each other. I will most definitely be in touch somehow to say HELLO!
Yay!! Maybe at one of the parties?
Which ones will you for sure be at?
I smiled throughout this whole video, great job! Good luck to you, you really do deserve to win!
Thank you for the compliments Deb, keep your fingers crossed for me!
You are too freaking adorable! While I think you are beautiful no matter what you’re wearing, you definitely need to chuck those old sweaters. Seriously. You should include a disclaimer that some scenes are not suitable for fashion-conscious viewers. LOL Kidding! You did a great job with this video and absolutely love the scene where you’re singing along the music while driving. Too cute!
Good luck and can’t wait to see you in a few weeks!
Ha!! You crack me up!
And yes, the video should have started with a warning. lol
Oh good grief you are adorable!! I wish you all the luck in the world!! (and if you win I want to come and take video for you!!)
Mwah
You are so sweet! Thanks so much!
incredible video, wow!
If I were judging, you would win hands down. Good luck and have a ton of fun, regardless of what you wear … but maybe not that brown hoodie. kidding, kind of.
That is so nice fo you to say, thank you. And don’t worry, that hoodie will be hidden and only worn during emergencies like camping and maybe very cold days.
Love it… I may be wrong but didn’t you have that Roots sweater in our college days
! Best of Luck!!!!
Shhhh!!!
ok, ok – I need this makeover THAT BAD! lol
Haha, I only have one child and have said too many times to count that I’ll take the ponytail out tomorrow! With 3 you definitely deserve to win this
Thanks A!
Oh, The ponytail – I love and hate it at the same time.
Actually, my hair has never been so short to not have one, so I can’t imagine not wearing one, but I almost feel that chopping my hair is the only way I’ll really get out of one … make sense? Yep, love and hate.
*sigh*
love your enthusiasm toward this, good luck!
Thanks Danica, I appreciate having you in my cheering section!
I’m in stitches! you won’t actually wear those god-awful sweaters will you? Oh good luck girl, you absolutely need it!
Umm, no …. #bigfatlie
oh, how badly could i use this!? love your charcoal grey picks; adorable!
