LEGO SpongeBob Bikini Bottom Undersea Party Playset

Summer is here and so are the ‘fun in the sun’ playsets! For playdates, rainy days or just some downtime from outdoor activities, here’s a new LEGO Spongebob product for kids aged 6-11.

SpongeBob is throwing a huge party and everyone is invited! While Patrick is at the turntable spinning his favorite tunes and Squidward mans the juice bar, SpongeBob is getting silly by catapulting the party cake at Mrs. Puff!

The LEGO SpongeBob Bikini Bottom Undersea Party building playset comes with 471 pieces and has these unique features:

• 4 MiniFigures: SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mrs. Puff
• Gary also included
• DJ table and speakers, merry-go-round, seesaw, and juice bar with ice cabinet
• SpongeBob’s house with ejecting bed function and Gary’s bowl
• Squidward’s house with music stand and art studio

This building playset contains such brightly colored pieces, all of which my oldest daughter was eager to play with. Right off the bat she had to build SpongeBob himself. This was the hardest part, only because we dumped ALL the pieces from all the bags onto the table. We couldn’t find his pants for the longest time, joking that he’d have to be called ‘SpongeBob NoPants’. Alas, we found his pants, but there was much laughter along the way.

My daughter first arranged the pieces as shown on the box, following the directions to a tee. I’m still trying to grasp the huge SpongeBib-appeal myself {Hey, I’m honest!}, yet she is a huge fan.She took the lead in the building and playing, I helped her along the way, finding the needed pieces before her sisters did. She mastered it fast, and soon took over reenacting scenes from the show and trying to explain to all the characters to me. Side note: again, I was baffled.

She has many LEGO sets, yet playing with this one was noticeably different, because she didn’t make the same objects she always does with the other sets {house, car etc}. With the LEGO SpongeBob Bikini Bottom Undersea Party playset, she took on the characters and acted out her favorite scenes, thereby fostering imaginative play.

There’s movable pieces too {like working turn-tables, a catapult and more}, which is her favorite part about the set. I think I’ll get her more character LEGO sets, it really does spark a whole new creativity {and theatrics} in her. And of course, for any SpongeBob fan, loving this set will be a no-brainer.
