Disclaimer: This really isn’t new news.
In fact, many flavors of Lays potato chips have always been gluten free.
Yet, I had NO idea!
Another fun fact, which is the new news?
The CCA {Canadian Celiac Association} has a new ‘Gluten-Free Certification Program’ and Lay’s is the very first product to be officially certified as gluten free! {keep that one in your pocket for trivia games one day}.
Now, I don’t have a gluten intolerance, yet 1% of Canadians do, so this is great news for chip-fans.
Tasting the same as they always have, I enjoy them as much now as I did when Lays dill pickle was THE craving when I was pregnant with Belle. These days I wouldn’t make hubby drive and hour to get me some {unless he really wanted to, of course. heh}, but they still are the choice when I’m chip-shopping.
BBQ’s, birthdays, movie nights or just a celebratory snack at the end of the night when the kids are fast asleep … I know you do that too!
In case you are wondering, yes I was sent a great selection of Lays chips as a thank you for spreading the news. Hey, it’s all in the name of research, right?
Wait – am I not supposed to type with my mouth full?
I’ll end with a photo for you. Ahem, what’s left of my bowl of chips tonight.
Your welcome
Check out the Lay’s potato chips website for a list of the gluten free flavors. Get your bags at all major retailers across Canada at a SRP of $2.99 for a 200g bag or $3.49 for a 270g bag
So, what’s your favorite chip flavor??

I’m all about the salt and vinegar chips. I love them!
As a kid those were my fave too.
Maybe I overdid it though, I hardly reach for that flavor anymore. Kinda like my aversion to rides at the fair now? Overindulgence? lol
Sour Cream and Onion!
Ohhh!! That’s a popular one!
ketchup, but i have the same problem once i start i cant stop lol
Oh no, you can never stop. I think it may be a law, actually….
Salt & Vinegar
I honestly had no idea that Lays potato chips were gluten free!
You taught me something pretty darn awesome today ^.^
Well, happy to have done that Kayla!
You never know when you’ll need this info, right?
Wow! I had no idea Lays was gluten free. Thanks for the tip. I’m a Dill Pickle fan through and through.
I feel like starting a Dill Pickle fan club! lol
Dill Pickle!
The only reason I knew Lay’s were gluten-free is because my niece is Celiac and Lay’s are one one of the only chips she can eat
*high fives* Christine!
I’m not celiac, but I know a lot of people that are. Happy that more products are available to them, compared to just a few years ago!
Didn’t know they were gultan free. I love the chips with less salt.
