Clearwater Beach, Florida

Before leaving on our family trip to Florida, I did a rough itinerary and decided we needed one beach day. Recommended by many, we opted for Clearwater Beach . With a huge popularity for being one of the finest beaches in the US in general, we knew this was one destination in which we had to spend some time.

The 3 miles of Clearwater Beach front is located astride the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and the relaxed of the Tampa Bay east. This situation in between two waters, and proximity to Clearwater, Tampa, delivers visitors extensive actions like sunbathing on white sand seashores, diving into a video game of beach front volleyball, fishing boats, take a dolphin, parasailing or place of a museum or aquarium mainland.

A common choice for families, it has vast sandy beaches lined with resorts, shops and restaurants. The day we went turned out to be overcast {the one day of our entire vacation, go figure}. So though it wasn’t free of clouds or intensely hot like other days, it was actually the perfect weather for some beach time. Yet, I still longed to see the famed crystal clear and turquoise ocean water on clear, sunny days. Maybe next time…

My favorite had to be the sandy white beaches, simply beautiful. While watching the kids collect shells and play in the shallow water, I couldn’t help but to dig my toes into the sugar white sand.

Relax I did as I watched fisherman nearby, families playing and listened to the waves lightly kissing the shore. The beach is busy, yet you’d never be at a loss of a spot to park yourself. While the area that we settled in had a moderate amount of seaweed, that was because we were beside the rocks at the far end. Despite this, it didn’t hinder our experience at all, and turned out to be one of the quietest areas.

Take note parents: Clearwater Beach has full-time lifeguards to ensure swimmers’ and beach goers’ safety. You can bring your own chairs or if you get there early, there’s loungers and umbrellas for the public to use.

Yet, watch your sandwiches as my little Katie learned. You have to hold them tight or a seagull will steal them right out of your hands. Yet, the shocked look on my toddlers’ face was priceless, and made for lasting memories. “Remember that time you tried to eat lunch at the beach…” 🙂

We loved our family time at Clearwater beach, it’s rank as one of the best in the US is well deserved!

  3. My family stayed at the Sand Pearl Resort in Clearwater Beach last September and we LOVED it! The beach is beautiful, soft and flour-like, really unbelievable! Clearwater Beach is truly a great place to go with the family and we will certainly go back. I hope you had a chance to try one of the famous Grouper Sandwichs @Frenchy’s….they were fantastic (as was all the menu there!)….a must do for anyone in the area.

  4. That looks like a ton of fun! My 3.5 year old loves going to the beach, though we don’t go very often. My 9 month old has only been to the lake so far and loved it, we need to make an ocean trip before the summer is over!

  5. Love Clearwater Beach, my parents used to take me there all the time when I was little. It has been years since I have been there, might be time for a visit again.
