Can you believe that it’s the 10th anniversary of the two modern-day fairy tales, The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement!? To commemorate the anniversary, Disney has released these films for first time ever on Blu-ray!

If you haven’t yet seen these films, here’s the synopsis and a short clip for each:
The Princess Diaries – invisible to everyone with theexception of her mother, best friend Lilly and Lilly’s older brother Michael. Making it through high school without throwing up is a challenge in itself for Mia, so it doesn’t come as welcome news when her estranged grandmother shows up out of the blue and calmly informs her that she is in fact the heir to the throne of a European country called Genovia. Suddenly Mia’s life is thrown into complete overload. She’s being taught about scarves, waves and pears in order to become a perfect princess, she gets a makeover and a tough looking yet sweet bodyguard/limo driver called Joe. Things get out of hand when the media gets a hold of the story and suddenly Mia is thrust into the spotlight in both thenewspapers and in school. On top of all that Mia has a choice to make. She must decide by Genovia’s Independence Day Ball whether she longs to relinquish her claim on the throne or to become the princess and heir to the throne and father and grandmother want her to be.
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement – Andrews (Best Actress, Mary Poppins), this modern-day fairy tale picks up right where The Princess Diaries left off! As future queen of Genovia, Princess Mia (Hathaway) has everything a girl could want – except the magical romance she’s always dreamed of. But soon, Mia’s shocked to discover that she needs to get married right now or her family will lose the crown! Comic complications rule the day in this delightful family story about finding out who you really are and discovering what it takes to make your dreams come true!
Yet both movies have important messages for their G rated audience: The first has a message that you can be anything you want, and that you should always stand up for who you are and for your friends. The second is about being true to yourself and not being talked into things that you don’t believe in. Messages aside though, they really are funny movies as well! As Mia finds the ‘royal’ in herself, theres many jokes and situations that will have you chuckling.
I got the 3-disc blu-ray combo pack for review and this set includes bloopers and outtakes, “A New Princess” behind-the-scenes featurette, 8 deleted scenes, music videos and a A Personality Quiz to Find Your Inner Princess. I’d say my girls watch the bonus features in movies these days, just as much as the films, they are worth getting the combo packs for.
I didn’t know until recently, but Whitney Houston was a producer of these films! Get your copy, AVAILABLE NOW in stores.
One lucky reader will get the same THE PRINCESS DIARIES: 10th Anniversary Edition + THE PRINCESS DIARIES 2: Royal Engagement in a 2-Movie Collection Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack! {arv 39.99}

My kids are movie junkies and they haven’t seen these yet, but I am sure that they would love them.
I love Julie Andrews and I love these movies!
These are such cute movies and I would love to win them so that I could share them with my daughter.
I absolutely LOVE The Princess Diaries movies! I am a huge fan on the book series by Meg Cabot, as well. I do own both of the movies but I only own the VHS version of The Princess Diaries and my Princess Diaries 2 DVD skips, so it would be nice to own The Princess Diaries on DVD [for the first time!] and a new copy of The Princess Diaries 2.
I love watching the bonus features/deleted scenes that come with some DVDs! If I couldn’t watch the movies, I would be just fine watching the bonus features/deleted scenes because I think, sometimes, they are better than the actual movie! I get upset whenever a movie lacks bonus features/deleted scenes because those are the best part! :/
my daughter would love these movies
