Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Grilled cheese sandwiches are always a favorite. Yet, let’s kick that up a notch, shall we? How about a recipe for Italian Grilled Cheese Sandwich? Mmmm!

Adding that Italian flaire, these are oozing with mozza and gives such a great flavor when combined with basil pesto and tomatos. It just takes 4 ingredients to make, which makes it super easy to prepare. I make mine with Dempster’s 100% whole wheat bread and side with creamy tomato soup.

Keep in mind, these sandwiches are flavorful and filling, so a half might do. Which leaves another half for a lunch-mate. Great meals are meant to be shared, right?

Enjoy!

That looks delicious! I definitely need some new lunch ideas because I’m tired of eating the same things over and over. Will have to try this!

same here Janet. With school ending in a couple days, I am SO SICK of making the girls’ favorite sandwiches yet they still want them. I’m trying to mix it up a bit. Beat the blahs! lol

  4. Looks delish! I do my grown-up grilled cheese with a similar idea – sliced tomato, oregano, sliced old cheddar.

  5. I want this for breakfast.

  6. Yum!! This looks really good! Easy enough to make to!

  7. That looks so delicious. I never buy mozzarella like that. I usually buy the blocks. Is it so much better?

    • Tammi says:

I much prefer this Mozza, it’s softer, melts better {think strings of cheese}, and seems to have a longer span before it shows age.

      • Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I love it when it’s super stringy.. I should try this. Cheese never lasts more than a week here so aging isn’t a problem.
I made homemade deepfried mozzarella sticks tonight. I bet this kind would be more tasty. I want stringy, but cheese string/stick/whatchamacallit’s are not a very tasty sort of cheese.

  8. My husband made a sandwich similar to this. It was so good!!! I’m now hungry!
