Canadians, who needs an iPad3?

All you have to do to Enter the Speroway Contest, is head to their FB page, it’s really easy. Once entered, you can share the contest with your friends and family – increasing your chances with anyone that enters when using your link. It only takes one entry to win, but you get extra entries for the sharing so it’s worth a shot, don’t you think?!
Why the Contest?
Well, it’s all part of a very special campaign. You see, Speroway was formerly known as “Feed the Children – Canada”. It’s non-profit relief organization and their amazing mission children in Canada and abroad: food, medicine, education as well as other essential needs.
Now, my own children don’t go a day without food. But, I’ll tell you a little something, it happens. Here. In Canada.
When my oldest was in Kindergarten, I was at her school over lunch hour one day. The girl sitting next to my daughter didn’t have a lunch in front of her. I watched as the teacher reached into the cupboard and gave her one. I immediately thought she had forgotten her lunch that day, yet sadly I learned that very seldom did this 5 year old come to school with food. RIP MY HEART OUT!!!
From that day forward, I sent 2 lunches to school with Isabelle each and every day. I didn’t hesitate in doing this, I just did it. I had to do what I could to ensure that this child was nourished, energized and alert for her day of education. I couldn’t get involved in her home life or be privvy to the details, yet my daughter was allowed to share extra food when I ‘accidentally’ sent 2 meals, ummm, each day.
Know what? Unfortunately, this isn’t as uncommon as you’d think. And I thank organizations like Speroway for doing what they can to help the children in this world as well as close to home.
Right now Speroway is working hard to raise money for Haiti and they need donations. Please note that donating to Speroway does not increase your chances at winning the prize in tis contest at all. Yet with the contest, it’s the hope that awareness about the organization spreads – so please enter and pass it on.

It is heartbreaking when children come to school with little or no food, a proper shower, and clean clothes..I find schools are paying attention to the needs of children especially those children that don’t have the support. I have seen many schools have breakfast and lunch programs. Thank you for supporting these children and having this special campaign.
Yes, I have noticed that as well, and I think it’s fabulous. Ours do take donations of food, though not advertised. But, their resources are limited to what they have for these situations – so good to know that parents can donate items for others if they need it. No child should go to school hungry!
Haiti really needs help in so many ways. This is one great cause. Thank you for this Contest!
