Found at Well.ca is the GroClock Sleep Trainer, something that has taken the interest of parents in Canada – yet at the same time, only found in certain specialty stores. It’s a clock, made for toddlers who can’t tell time.
It uses fun images of the stars and sun to communicate when to go back to sleep and when it’s time to get up. Parents set the clock to display a cheerful smiley sun at progressively later times of morning, training the child to get up only once they “see the sun”.
This is a great item to have especially this time of year. We just set our clocks ahead and it stays bright until bedtime. I myself have already had arguments about going to bed while still so light out, “but Mom, the sun isn’t going to bed!!” Same with those way-too-early mornings, sometimes I’m woken up with a little voice asking if it’s time to get up.
It would be nice to have a Gro-clock glowing that it’s still bedtime, so that they would now before they are totally awake. And, since it still tells time, it grows with the child. So, does anyone have the Gro-clock, I’d love to try this out with the twins?!
