Somewhat warm weather. Nasty weather. Sun then snow. Rain then more snow. Sun.
This time of year is hard for us. After so many months of Winter, the kids just want to play outside. We are all done with Winter! Yet, we can’t break out the kiddie pool in the backyard yet. But rest assured parents, there is a way to bring the outdoor play inside, and try something different until Mother Nature graces us with better weather.
My kids got a Step2 Tropical Island Resort. It’ll be super in the summer sun, yet we couldn’t wait until then to test it out. So, we brought a little tropical fun inside!
In about 20 minutes I had the set put together {very easy, I did it myself!} and then the girls got their swimsuits on!
There are so many features to this water play set. A slide and diving board, a water wheel carrousel and much more!
Pump the geyser and the water flows into a lagoon.
The palm tree has spinning gears hanging monkey. When water is poured on top of the palm tree the wheels and gears spin. Very interactive and teaching cause and effect. Plus, just plain fun!
At perfect height for toddlers, there was more than enough room for both twins to play. This is important to me, since I don’t like to purchase two of an item for them to play.
This water table includes a 14 piece accessory kit like a family, a boat and animals and much more. The girls really liked having the new toys to go along with the table.
Even indoors, the girls loved having a beach day. They spent hours playing with the Step2 Tropical Island Resort. Indeed it was a break from our usual Winter-time play routine.
We even had a fruit tray for snack and made summer smoothies!
The Step2 Tropical Island Resort is recommended for ages 1.5 and up and I have to agree. Even my 7yo enjoys this water table. She is actually able to make the people really fly on that diving board!
Another great feature is the easy and convenient drain, used to remove the water. So, I used a bucket to fill it up and then drained the water back into the bucket afterwards. So simple with no leaking at all during use. This water table is a very durable design, yet lightweight enough that I was able to carry it myself with ease.

There’s even an empty hole on one side, to hold a 40″ umbrella {sold separately}. Our backyard is full sun all day long, so I appreciate this feature so that I can keep the kids out of the sun’s harmful rays. Plus, since it has a designated space for the umbrella, it would be secure and not tip over when they are playing.
Though we can’t wait to take the Tropical Island Resort water table outdoors, it’s great that it can be played indoors as well. It was a great idea to have an afternoon beach party, a wonderful way to beat the last of the Winter blahs!
