National Bagel Day: Dempster’s Contest

Did you know that today is National Bagel Day? Before you think, “there’s a day for everything”, consider the fact that 6/10 Canadians eat a bagel on a regular basis! Are you one of those Canadians?

According to Dempster’s® Bagel Barometer, my own province of Alberta comes in 3rd when asked how often they enjoy a bagel. So, Canada – put down that morning bagel for just one minute, you’ll want to read on!

Dempster’s is a brand that is no stranger to My Organized Chaos. I tend to gravitate toward talking about products that myself and my family uses. Or in this case – consumes! So I guess we are in that majority of Canadians that love their bagels!

Baked fresh daily right here in Canada, Dempster’s bagels start with premium, quality ingredients and natural flavours such as 100% Canadian wheat and real fruit and spices. With seven delicious flavours {Plain, Sesame, 100% Whole Wheat, 12 Grain, Everything, Cinnamon Raisin and Blueberry}, there’s sure to be a favorite for anyone. If you have ever tried to ‘cheap out’ and get a no-name bagel, you’ll know that toasting results in the entire thing turning into a hard rock {I can’t give the kids these!}, so I personally choose Dempster’s because the outside is crispy, yet the inside stays soft and fluffy after toasting.

Dempster’s is celebrating National Bagel Day with the launch of a new bagel recipes, partnered with well-known chef and bagel fan, Bob Blumer. These recipes will be be making their way across country via the Dempster’s Pop Up Bakery {a larger than life toaster}. The mission? Serve samples to Canadians! So, Watch for the giant sized toaster , it could be pulling up to a grocer in your city!

I urge you to take a savory peek at Bob Blumer’s recipes for Dempster’s bagels, my favorite has to be the Cheddar n’ apple recipe. Not only would it taste like Apple Pie {who can protest that!}, but even the kids can get involved and help prepare this one. I have included the recipe below, yummy, right?

WIN IT: How does a Demptster’s bagel-inspired prize pack sound?  Valued at $150, the National Bagel Day giveaway is filled with everything you need to make the perfect bagel.
