Playskool ~ Holiday Gifting Ideas for Kids

by Tammi on 11/14/2011 · 427 comments

If there’s a classic toy that I’m sure most kids will have in their childhood, it’s Mr. Potato Head. From an early age, all my kids showed great interest in this toy, and I appreciated how much it taught them.

As babies, they learn the dexterity to put the body parts anywhere, so proud that they are able to add that ear to the top of the head. Once they’ve mastered that hand-eye coordination, they really get creative in dressing Mr. Potato head.

All my girls went through that first stage of trying so hard to get placement, then onto putting all the parts in the right places. I recall my oldest being so mad if you put the parts on wrong – she knew where they went and you couldn’t tell her otherwise. Now that my kids are older, they seemed to have gone full circle, now going back to crazy and zany ways to place the body parts on – so many giggles to be had just by putting the lips where the eyes go!

Classic Mr. Potato Head Silly Suitcase comes with everything needed for little imaginations {over 40 parts!}. And, all in one case to keep it all together and organized! Intended for ages 2+, my oldest at 7 can still be found making silly heads with her sisters. Yep, a classic indeed!

We also got the MARVEL Super Hero Adventures PLAYSKOOL HEROES Crime-Cruising Car with SPIDER-MAN & HULK. Here is the description:

Give your favorite heroes a way to move quickly with the Crime-Cruising Car! Your SPIDER-MAN and HULK figures can battle evil wherever they find it with you in charge, and the Crime-Cruising Car will take them there in a hurry. Put them in the seats and if the car needs more speed, push the bumper to convert it to a hovercraft! If your heroes need more firepower, launch the included “rockets.”
Crime-Cruising Car comes with SPIDER-MAN and HULK figures and launching “rockets.”
Ages 3 to 6

I have been debating on whether or not to give this to the twins, ‘boy toy’ or not, I know they’d love it. After all, they love action heroes and playing with cars as much as they do planes. So the Crime-Cruising Car Set will impress girls and boys alike. Plus, it would be nice to have a toy geared toward boys around, for when my girls’ friends come over. Either way, it’ll make a great gift, for my girls this Christmas or someone we know. I guess I’ll let Santa decide on that one!

One lucky reader is going to get the MARVEL Super Hero Adventures PLAYSKOOL HEROES Crime-Cruising Car with SPIDER-MAN & HULK

The MARVEL Super Hero Adventures PLAYSKOOL HEROES Crime-Cruising Car with SPIDER-MAN & HULK is the toy to have, as my son is totally into super heroes right now and at the top of the list of super heroes is spider-man and the hulk!!!!! Mind you my daughter would probably like the PLAYSKOOL EXPLORE `N GROW MUSICAL GEAR CENTER Playset. There are so many toys either of the kids would love and PLAYSKOOL generally makes good quality toys that interest kids of all ages.
