Old Navy ~ Fall and Winter 2011 Outerwear Collection‏

I became a tad hooked on the outerwear at Old Navy a couple of years ago, when I bought myself a Wool-Blended Double Breasted Coat. It quickly became my favorite and was seen on me on most colder days. Since then, each time I go into any Old Navy these days, I head straight for their collections of coats to see if there’s any new ‘goodies’ for me to admire. For the Fall and Winter 2011 season, Old Navy has a completely new Outerwear Collection which will keep you fashionably warm this winter.

Thanks to Old Navy, I have another favorite to donne this winter, a black Long Down Coat {regular price $149.99 CAD}. Since it’s made from 65% Down and 35% waterfowl feathers; very soft, plush and comfy. It also has storm cuffs and a storm guard around the neck to keep out the chilly draft and keep me very warm. That makes this warmth-lovin Canadian girl very happy. As well, it has a hidden hood in the collar, which will be nice when it’s not only cold, but windy.

To keep it looking like one big puffy coat, it has a belt that does up by a metal hook {which is attached to the fabric on the sides}. I actually love this belts since my one complaint about my wool jacket is that it has a free belt that easily gets twisted and takes so long to thread it through the clips. Putting on the Long Down Coat and fastening the belt takes seconds and is a welcome fit into my very busy and chaotic days, Really, who has time to mess with a coat belt each time they put it on?

This is also the first time I’ve ever had a long coat before, yet I like that it also keeps a good portion of my legs warm too {not to mention, the backside as well}. Did I mention that it gets cold here?

At first I thought it was a little uncomfortable to get into the car with such a long coat on. Or, for tasks like stepping up high. Yet, it was my husband that pointed out that it has a two-way zipper, so you can undo the bottom a little if you need a little more room to move.
