Winter Wonderland with EA Games ~ Wii Games giveaway

by Tammi on 11/21/2011 · 845 comments

My family recently got a fun package from our friends at Electronic Arts, a travel cooler filled with candy and family-friendly Wii games! Doesn’t that sound like the perfect way to snuggle in from the cold and spend time with the family this winter?

Here are a few of our favorite titles from the collection, and one that might make the perfect gift for someone you know this Christmas:

FAMILY GAME NIGHT 4 The Game Show– Xbox 360 (with Kinect functionality), PlayStation 3 (with Move functionality), Nintendo Wii

Now you’re part of the action! In FAMILY GAME NIGHT 4 The Game Show, you can experience all the fun and excitement of the popular Hub Network TV show right in your own living room! This time you’re playing with larger-than-life pieces in re-imagined versions of your favorite Hasbro games. CONNECT 4 Basketball is more challenging than ever as you shoot hoops to score andYAHTZEE! Bowling puts a whole new spin on the popular dice game. You’ll also find fun new versions of SCRABBLE FlashSORRY! Sliders, and BOP-IT Boptagon, and win MONOPOLY Crazy Cash, just like the game show!  Use the motion-sensing technology of Kinect for Xbox 360 or PlayStation Move to turn your living room into a game board and compete to prove your family is the best! ESRB Rating: “E” for Everyone

We have Family Game Night 2 on Wii, and it’s been a favorite for a year now. With so many games and many modes to play, it’s fun for one or for us all to play together. And, Family Game Night 4 is just the same, yet with new games! Hubby and I are love to have Scrabble matches while my daughter is really fond of BOP-IT. She has the actual game and does very well with this game for Wii too. Right now we especially like playing these games on Wii since the twins are still young enough to interfere with a good game of scrabble {pieces everywhere!}. This way, we can play without the chance of game interruptions of this nature.

MONOPOLY Collection—Nintendo Wii

Hasbro’s No. 1 family game brand returns to the Wii with two games in one value-priced package for twice the fun!  Build up your real estate empire in Classic MONOPOLY or watch the streets evolve and come alive as you play MONOPOLY Streets.  MONOPOLY Collection comes loaded with special features and additional content including the MONOPOLY World Edition, “Stratosphere City” board, and the ability to play as your Mii– or even Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.  Fans of the board game can keep the dice rolling with even more ways to play: challenge friends in MONOPOLY Millionaires on Facebook, bring MONOPOLY on the go with iPhone and Android versions, or try your hand at MONOPOLY World and MONOPOLY Slots on Pogo.com. ESRB Rating: “E” for Everyone

Just like I said in the above, it’s also been years since hubby and I sat down for a good game of Monopoly, since games with many pieces and two active toddlers just don’t mix well. For the last couple years we have commented about how we used to play Monopoly together all the time, and we really missed it. Now we have it on Wii with no chance of missing pieces {1 point for the parents!}. Being ‘old school’ Monopoly fans, we like the classic version the best.

TRIVIAL PURSUIT Bet You Know ItNintendo Wii

Play on your friends’ strengths and weaknesses in new Bet You Know It Mode to turn your smart wagers into wedges– or choose Classic Mode for the original TRIVIAL PURSUIT game you know and love. Showcase your knowledge with more than 7,000 fascinating questions based on today’s current events, pop culture and more, including thousands of new questions not seen in the original game.  Continue all the fun of TRIVIAL PURSUIT online with your daily dose of trivia on Pogo.com’s TRIVIAL PURSUIT Daily 20, or take your trivia to go with iPhone, iPad and Android TRIVIAL PURSUIT apps. ESRB Rating: “T” for Teen

Trivial Pursuit is too advanced for my oldest daughter to enjoy, so this one is for teens and adults. Hubby and I used to play this game when we first started dating, and still have that edition. It’s fun to ‘modernize’ that a bit and get quizzed on current culture. I almost find some topics harder these days, result of parenthood and too much cartoons? ha! This would be great when you have company, we might play this on Christmas Eve with the whole family.

The Sims 3 Pets! – Xbox360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo 3DS and as an Expansion Pack for the PC/Mac,

Anyone can play as they want, whether it’s the builder who prefers to customize their Sim to match their pet, the achiever who tries to gain the most Lifetime Rewards, the experimenter who wants to wreak havoc in their Sims lives or the storyteller who captures and shares their stories with their friends. Unique to the console experience, players will use their pets to help their Sims uncover and solve mysteries around town. Exclusively for the Xbox 360, players with Kinect can issue voice commands to their pets and Sims. The Nintendo 3DS takes advantage of the hardware’s built-in pedometer that tracks player’s real life movements. On the PC/Mac version, players now have the opportunity to adopt horses where they’ll be able to use their horse as a form of transportation to get around town and also raise and train them to do activities like race and jump hurdles.  ESRB Rating: “T” for Teen

Until we received this game, Sims hasn’t been apart of our Wii collection since they aren’t a line of games that are suitable for younger kids. We tried Sims 3 Pets for just a short time, just to get a feel for the game. It great that you get choose to be a pet or have pet. You can spend a great deal of time creating the pet, even with full ability to re-create one like your own loved pet. My daughter liked watching me create the pets – not really interested in the actual game process. This one is definitely for teens and up, so we’ll be bringing this one back out for play when our children are older.

One lucky reader is going to get enjoy some Wii games this Winter, with thanks to Electronic Arts! This person will get The Sims 3 Pets and Family Game Night 4: The Game Show!
