I was given the opportunity to try out the Black & Decker Convection Toaster Oven while participating in an Ultimate Sandwich Recipe Contest with Mom Central Canada. What a great opportunity to try out some new recipes, test all the features of this toaster oven, and participate in a challenge, to feature my Chicken Caesar Parmesan Sandwich!
I have been busy for weeks, experimenting with recipes and testing the Black & Decker Toaster Oven to it’s full capacity. I had a few favorites recipes, and it was hard to narrow it down for purposes of the contest. Yet this particular recipe {the following that I am using as my official entry}; combines taste, ingredients most families have on hand, kid-approved qualities and this one recipe allows use of 3 different features of the oven. So, not only do I get to boast the great features of the Black & Decker Toaster Oven – but I also get to provide you with a comforting and delicious sandwich recipe for your own family. Here it is: Ca
Chicken Caesar Parmesan Sandwich
- 1 Chicken Breast, cut lengthwise
- 4 Slices of French or Sourdough Bread
- 1 cup Croutons
- ¼ cup Mayonaise
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 3 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
- 4 tbsp Caesar Salad Dressing
- Pinch salt and pepper to taste
- Cut chicken breast fully lengthwise, making 4 thinner chicken filets.
- Place your croutons in a hefty zippered sandwich bag and crush with a rolling pin until resembling fine crumbs. Empty crushed croutons from the baggie onto a small plate, as with the mayonaise onto another small plate.
- Coat chicken pieces with mayonnaise first, and then roll into the crushed croutons to coat.
- Place chicken breasts onto the Black and Decker Toaster Oven Pan {I cover with foil, for easy clean-up} and ‘bake’ at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Remove from oven when chicken is no longer pink in the middle.
- Place bread slices directly onto the toaster oven rack, setting the oven from bake to ‘toaster’. Toast slices as desired, yet ensure the bread has a nice firm crust to it.
- Place chicken filets onto 2 of the toast slices, covering each with a layer of Marinera Sauce followed by Mozzarella Cheese {quantity is your own preference}.
- Place back into toaster oven, on ‘broil’ for ~5 minutes or until cheese is melted {while waiting, take romaine lettuce leaves and mix with Caesar salad dressing a bowl}
- When cheese is melted and bubbling on the open faced chicken sandwich, take out of the toaster oven and place Caesar dressing lettuce leaves on top. Sprinkle with your desired amount of Parmesan cheese.
- Finish with another slice of toasted bread, to complete the sandwich. Enjoy!

Believe me, this Ultimate Sandwich tastes as delicious as it looks! When you coat the chicken in mayo, it keeps the chicken moist and delicious. The crispy coating of the croutons to the cheeses and Marinara sauce give it that kick of flavour. To give this sandwich a unique twist, I add the caesar romaine lettuce, for extra veggies and added taste. It’s a comforting and delicious sandwich that is both easy to make and easy to please. Sure to become a family favorite!
I like that I was able to easily bake, toast and broil this sandwich to completion, just using the Black & Decker toaster Oven. And, it was so nice in this summer heat to not have to use the conventional oven and make matters worse.
I created this post as part of the Black & Decker Ultimate Sandwich contest as part of a Mom Central Canada program. I received a Convection Countertop Oven Courtesy of Applica Canada Corporation, exclusive licensee of Black & Decker Home.
