If you are thinking about gifting a pocket video camera this Father’s Day, have you checked out the Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera? We recently got one for review, and it’s features are exactly what we were looking for. First of all, and I think most importantly, is that it’s waterproof to 3 meters. So many times we were faced with the dilema of cameras and water, usually they don’t mix. Yet opting not to use it when near water really hindered the memories we were able to capture. For instance, we didn’t take a lot of footage when we were near the water while on our family trip to Mexico. And in the water is where we had the most fun! With summer coming, it’s nice to know that we can take the Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera on trips to the beach, swimming and simply playing in the sprinkler outside. Already I have found this feature to be the best, it really is made for play + sport + capture!
I also like the basic design of the camera. The shape and solid design fits nicely in the hand so you are able to meet convenience with function. After all, when it comes to videotaping kids – timing is key. With the Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera I have never fumbled with buttons or had to use two hands to hold it steady.
The PlaySport HD Video Camera has a generous sized rectangle LCD screen. in which you are able to see the entire shot. I found that most video cameras have a square screen, which meant that some of your capture wasn’t known until you uploaded and viewed into the typical rectangle format. With the Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera, what you see is what is recorded. And, while I’m talking about the LCD screen, I have to note the brilliant clarity of the screen itself. I noticed on first use that the colors were vivid and crisp, same as the shots taken. Plus, you can shoot your video in color, black & white, sepia and 70′s tint. So, your action footage can get as creative as you want!
The Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera was made for use when playing tough. It’s shockproof, dustproof, and has built-in image stabilization. So, for those that love quadding, biking and recoding all their latest adventures – this one is for you! And, for those snorkelers out there, not only can this video camera go to a depth of 3 meters, but can stay there for up to 2 hours too!
I like to preserve memories in both video and photos, so it’s great that the Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera also takes still photos too {5MP}.
As with all Kodak products, the PlaySport HD Video Camera is also made for ease of use. You just plug it into your computer and all your images transfer over in record time. And, with a touch of the ‘share’ button, you can upload directly to your social networks {Facebook, Twitter and more}. You can also choose to upload to all your networks at the same time!
.
There’s plenty more features to this video camera, the list seems to go on and on. Just a few include: smart face tracking technology, macro mode, underwater white balance, on-camera editing, LCD Glare Shield feature and more.
Available in many colors, the Kodak PlaySport HD Video Camera is quite the gadget. So, given all these features, is there a man in your life that would have fun with this video camera? The Kodak website has more information on this and other Great Gifts for Dad.

I would love to take more professional looking pictures of my kids and their beautiful blue eyes on a KODAK EASYSHARE MAX Camera.
I’ve also subscribed to the Organized Chaos RSS, and “Liked” on facebook (along time ago mind you). I think it’s a great blog. I love your reviews because you’re a mom of young kids and KNOW what they are like with technology and other things. Keep up the great work!
