Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms

With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, what a perfect time to book review and giveaway, with the books topic being: Motherhood. Yet busy motherhood comes with the unlikely chance of actually getting to read novels very easily. I recall those days as a new Mom when finding time to read books become so sporadic it was almost unproductive. I’d have to re-read each time, just to remember what the book was about! That is exactly the reason why I enjoy the Chicken Soup for the Soul books so much – they are all filled with short stories, much easier to sneak in the time for a story or two. There is a new title to add to the huge series, Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms – 101 Inspirational Stories of Joy, Love, and Wonder.

Becoming a new mom is the most amazing event. This book celebrates the physical, emotional, and spiritual experience of having a child and creating a family. New and expectant moms will delight in these heartwarming, insightful, and humorous stories about raising babies and toddlers. This book is full of stories by other moms sharing the wonders of early motherhood, from waiting for the baby, whether through pregnancy, adoption, or surrogacy, to those early weeks and first few years, and everything in between!

This book is filled with short stories about pregnancy, birth, breast feeding, adoption, post-partum depression and so much more.   There were some sad stories & some happy stories, but they were all inspirational and uplifting in one way or another. There’s a great chapter from Dad’s point of view as well. Chicken Soup for the Soul: New Moms would make a great Mother’s Day gift to an expecting or new Mom. And, if there is a Mom out there who just needs some encouragement while battling the struggles of parenthood, she would get something from this book too. It’s great for instilling the fact that, ‘we are not alone’.
