‘Gear for the First Year’ Giveaway from CDHP

by Tammi on 03/20/2011 · 302 comments

Many new parents are overwhelmed with information that first year of baby’s life. Yet, one crucial health aspect that is often overlooked and forgotten easily is dental health in that first year. Since babies don’t have teeth, it’s easy to forget to brush their gums regularly. Especially when this is combined with all the other tasks and duties that keeps parents’ minds occupied. I know I was terrible at remembering!

CDHP {Children’s Dental Health Project} wants to remind parents how crucial dental care is, for infants and children. On their website they have great resources for parents including myths vs. facts about babies’ teeth and a top 10 list of things to know about babies’ teeth. I thought I’d leave that list here in my post, since it’s such great information.

The fact that kids should first see a dentist around age 1 is one that I didn’t know of, until my twins were born {my oldest didn’t go until age 3}. When I spread this news to friends in my close mommy group, they weren’t aware either. Not only for health reasons, it also helps in getting them acquainted with going to the dentist as well, so that it’s not such a strange and ‘scary’ place.

One reader is going to get this Prize Pack Basket from CDHP, pictured above. The items include:

* Circo Sunburst Infant Duck Bath Mitt – Infant
* Johnson’s Baby Shampoo – 20 fl oz
* Pampers Swaddlers Diapers Jumbo Packs – Size 0 (36 Count)
* Newborn Circo Short-Sleeve Neutral 3pk Bodysuit 0-3M
* Gerber First Essentials Bottle Set : 5 oz Bottles – 9 Pack

To Enter, please visit CDHP and tell me something you learned from the site.
