With 3 kids aged six, two and two – there aren’t too many games out there that I can play with all my children. It seems like some are suited for older kids and others for younger, causing either boredom with my oldest or chaos for the twins. OK, make that chaos, for everyone. We recently received the Mega Bloks Domino Build Game for review, and I’m pleased to say that it’s the first ‘board’ type game that we all played together.
It’s a lot like domino’s, which my oldest enjoys – and it’s also something that my twins picked up on right away. They are just starting to ‘get’ matching games, so the domino’s aspect needed only minimal instruction for them. The cards {cardboard type for durability} placed in domino-style are bright with fun animals, and my 
daughters took to it right away. There is the added aspect of building an animal out of MEGA bloks each time you get a match, which is the twins’ favorite part. At first my twins wanted to just play with the bloks to make an animal, which caused a little frustration for my oldest {who wanted to play the game}. So, I let the twins discover and play with the bloks a bit, then they were able to focus and cooperate for actual game play.
Since this game is intended for kids aged 3-6, I am so pleased that all my kids can play. And, it’s teaching my twins about colors, animals, matching, critical thinking, motor skills and patience when waiting for their turn. It can be played with 2-4 players too.

I’ve never been much of a fan of games myself, but I got my son a game called “Frog Hoppers” recently that he really enjoys playing. He’s getting to the age where he’s starting to enjoy games, as he’s 3 1/2. I think he’d enjoy the Mega Bloks Domino game.

My favorite game, over the years,to play with our children is “Go Fish”. I like it because it is fun for a variety of ages. My 8 and 10 year old will play it and our 3-4 year old who can’t read can play too.
It teaches matching and holding cards and taking turns and how to win or lose respectably.
We have had different versions of Go Fish. Including a Thomas the Train one.
I think this Domino Build game would be fun too.
