kai fragrance review

I consider myself a perfume nut. I always have many bottles on the go, my tried-and-true favorites and others that I got as gifts {for me, perfume makes a wonderful gift}. Years ago, I was partial to strong, powerful scents, yet these days I quite enjoy softer and more romantic scents. Since there is so many perfumes on the market, I take full opportunity to test one or two out every time I go to a department store. One scent I hadn’t heard of until recently was kai Fragrance, a high-end perfume, bath, bodycare and home fragrance company. I was offered the chance to try a sampling of the product line and after reading the scent description – I was most intrigued and eager to try it myself. After all, I am a self-proclaimed perfume nut!

“beauty lies in the simplest and purest of things. kai brings this idea to life by using exotic fragrance and natural essences in our light and intoxicating scent. kai captures the irresistible fragrance of the tropics in a full line of perfume oil and body products. breathe in the beauty of kai, and experience today’s most
sought-after fragrance.”

The scent of kai is nothing short of beautiful, refreshing and very unique. Made with essential oils {paraben-free, sulfate-free, and not tested on animals}, kai has a light mix of fresh florals and somewhat of a tropical scent to it. It’s really hard for me to describe in words, what kai smells like, it’s almost frustrating! Yet it’s like a mild sweet pea scent, but the scent of gardenia takes precedence. Some of my other scents being much stronger and aggressively noticeable all the time. With kai, I forget I’m wearing it, until my hair flows past my face or I lift my arm toward my nose – then I get a whiff of this fragrance and I can’t help but to breathe in deeply. You really must sample kai for yourself if given the opportunity!

kai has many products, and I had the opportunity to try quite a few. I must take a moment to sing the praises of the body glow. It mists kai perfume oil on your skin, and it’s become my favorite since it’s not oily and leaves the skin with such an amazing softness. It doesn’t last as long as the perfume oil, yet it is so refreshing after a shower or when you need a scent-refresher. Usually I’m not a fan of perfumed lotions, yet the kai body lotion is a non-greasy lotion with such a mild scent, I can’t help but to reach for it above others. Before I had a chance to try the kai room linen spray, I hadn’t tried a linen spray before. I like my sheets scented, and fabric softeners just don’t last! I love fresh linen, yet am always disappointed that the scent doesn’t last longer than a day. The linen spray from kai is a great solution, and is incredibly nice to surround yourself in, after a long day with the kids. And, how great to freshen up a guest room!

The highlight is truly the love, kai gift set {pictured above}. Packaged in an organza bag, this set comes with kai roll-on perfume oil {a great size for traveling, this one is coming with me on our winter holiday this year!}, a kai body buffer and a kai nightlight fragrance candle with matches. The body buffer is also a new product to me {really, where have I been?}. It looks like a huge ball of styrofoam before you realize it’s actually a sponge. This hypo-allergenic sponge exfoliates, cleanses and moisturizes the skin – all the while releasing the signature kai fragrance from the soap. *swoon*. A whole new reason to treat yourself to a soothing bath!
The love, kai gift set would make any woman smile this Valentine’s Day, I guarantee. It’s a nice mix of pampering products, all with the beloved kai fragrance.

kai is a fragrance created by Gaye Straza Rappaport, who wanted to capture the aroma of her vacations in Hawaii. It has created quite the celebrity fan base, being a popular scent with Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Pink, Reese Witherspoon, Renee Zellweger, Charlize Theron, Naomi Watts and Tammi Roy {hee}. Usher states that kai is his favorite scent on a woman and Tommy Lee has said that kai candles calm him after a night on stage. And, if that isn’t enough, kai was even one of Oprah’s Favorite Things!!

kai is not sold directly on the website, but can be purchased at many different online retailers, boutiques and stores across the US, Canada, Austrailia, Europe and Asia.
