TomTom GO 2405TM | GPS System

by Tammi on 12/23/2010 · 2,555 comments

TomTom has recently launched a brand new sleek GPS system for car navigation, that has a whole new look and feel. It’s called the TomTom GO 2405TM. This model features more intuitive software than before, for a better user experience. To add to that ease, it has a brighter, high-res touch screen. Just like your favorite smart phone, it also has a pinch and zoom for easy map viewing and with just a swipe of a finger, you can navigate through streamlined menu screens. TomTom has also created a patented, high-speed algorithm that allows for instant route planning so you’ll get to all your family commitments on time.

The TomTom GO 2450TM‘s main features:

  • Outsmart traffic and road changes with Lifetime Traffic & Map Updates
  • Premium maps of the US, Canada & Mexico with Map Share On-Demand Updates
  • Always the smartest, fastest route with IQ Routes
  • Navigate easily with crisp, sharp graphics & intuitive user menus
  • Pinch to zoom and swipe from screen to screen using gestures

My family is not newbies when it comes to GPS Systems, since my husband works daily in remote locations. He relies on a GPS and can tell instantly if it’ll work for him. The TomTom GO 2405TM offers premium maps of the US, Canada & Mexico, with the ability to navigate to almost any address – including over 7 million points of interest, like gas stations, restaurants, hotels and more. So, this is a great GPS for work or leisure use.

Yet, like all products of technology, we have all become really picky when it comes to size and various shortcuts to help along the way. The 2405TM has a sleek 5-inch glass touchscreen, which is small enough to not be clunky – yet your fingers can still easily swipe and pinch-to-zoom for easy map viewing. It can mount to the windshield or dash, using the click & lock magnetic mount. As well, it can easily fit into a pocket. So, for those who love to Geo-cache – this one’s for you!

The TomTom GO 2405TM is compatible with Bluetooth mobile phone with voice recognition, to safely use {hands-free} when driving. This TomTom responds to 130 different verbal commands, and can even read emails and text messages!

One smart feature of the TomTom GO 2405TM is the Lifetime Traffic & Map Updates – it automatically receives live traffic updates and, if you choose, will automatically re-route you to an alternative, faster route. And the ‘recalculating’ doesn’t take as long as other brands, such as the Garmin my husband owns. This saves much time and energy. True to only TomTom, there is also IQ Routes – evaluation of routes based on actual trafficspeeds, rather than static, posted speed limits. Every few months you can download the Lifetime Map Updates for the latest full map {TomTom also has Map Share On-Demand Updates, so you can download verified updates from other drivers in between the full map releases}.

For those that are GPS newbies, rest assured this one is easy to use – it works right out of the box! TomTom is the world’s leading navigation solutions provider with navigation products sold in 30 countries and in over 20 languages. The TomTom GO 2405TM model has the latest features and some pretty smart technology that those new to GPS system’s {and those who are looking for a more advanced and new model as an upgrade} will adore. And, with GPS Systems being such a popular gifting item for Christmas, it’s definitely one to take into consideration!

One My Organized Chaos reader will get a lucky start to the new year with a TomTom 2405TM GPS {ARV $300 USD}!
