M&M Meat Shops | Holiday Entertaining

There are plenty of entertaining and snacking opportunities this time of year! One of those times which is most special in my family, is Christmas Eve. During this day {and evening}, we dine on appetizers and finger-type foods with family and friends. Doing this keeps it simple so that we don’t have to spend the entire day cooking and cleaning, and it also gives us room to enjoy a full turkey dinner on Christmas Day. I may have the time to prepare one or two dishes for our Christmas Eve get together, yet realistically, most of the items I serve are bought. This is exactly why my holiday shopping is done at M&M Meat Shops because when it comes to pre-made store-bought frozen food – you can’t beat M&M Meat Shops when it comes to quality, price and taste.So I guess you can say that M&M Meat Shops is welcome and present every holiday season, at our dinner table!

For the last few Christmas Eves we have served the Oriental Party Pack, from M&M Meat Shops. It has 5 different oriental-type foods in one package! As well, we also really like the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops – in one word – DELICIOUS! these always go fast in our house, so once you see the plate hit the table, we know to get in there for some before they are gone. Yet, we are a sharing and polite family – there always seems to be one or two left on the plate and the next 10 minutes is spent saying to one another, “You have it..”, “Oh no, I just had one. you have it, I insist…”.  It’s quite funny, but alas it happens every single year!

My father-in-law just adores the Bite-Sized Sausage Rolls for an appetizer – so we always need a package of that as well. As a bonus, these are always a hit with the kids, but so much fresher and healthier than some other brands. The puffed pastry on these little angels are so flaky, they almost seem home-made. So, if someone asks if I made them, I could probably get away with saying, “why yes – yes I did!” {shhhh}.

The appetizers at M&M Meat Shops all taste great and are a hit with family and friends. I like that I can depend on M&M Meat Shops to bring us a delicious and affordable appetizer on our Christmas Eve, it’s really become a wonderful tradition in our home! And, I’m already testing appetizers for our annual appetizer-night too. A few night ago, the kids and myself made the Italian Style Beef Meatballs. I served them over whole-grain rice with a side of vegetables. What an easy meal, it was really good!

At M&M Meat Shops, it seems I always leave with something for free too – which is more than welcome in my frugal world. Last time I was in there, I got a free Lavalicious Chocolate Cake by using a stamp card I got the previous time I was there. As well, I also got a free Apple Blossom dessert for spending just $30,  as part of that weeks’ promotion! I have to admit, these babies are my indulgence after the kids go to bed – my reward for surviving another day with 3 kids!

As well, there is always a spectacular sale going on. I can always find some great meals to purchase from their weekly flier alone. I picked up a Supreme Homestyle Lasagna last month for $5 off, plus got a free loaf of garlic bread with it! So, when I seen it on sale last week, I got another. These are great for busy, cold days when you really crave a warm meal yet don’t have the time to prepare a lasagna from scratch.

M&M Meat Shops has locations all across Canada. As well, you can place your order online and then stop in on your way home to pick it up! I really like this feature since I’m usually in such a rush when I’m out with the kids. On the other hand, last time I was in there and trying to decide on what to buy, the M&M Meat Shops staff was spectacular! He was such a great help not only in suggesting meals to try based on what I liked but, he also helped me put together an entire meal. The M&M Meat Shops website can do this for you, as well – but there really is something to be said for superb customer service!
