Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure | Review & Giveaway

by Tammi on 10/06/2010 · 612 comments

Growing up, Dora was tops with Isabelle. Everything was about Dora! The Twins are 2 years old now and they are starting to hit that Dora craze and all the memories are coming back to me. And I’m glad that we still have all of Isabelle’s Dora toys and DVD’s for the Twins to adore. That’s why my girls were thrilled to get Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure on DVD for review. Those who are familiar with the Dora characters will know all about Swiper. So what happens when Swiper gets put on the naughty list for swiping, and goes on a mission with the characters to discover the meaning of Christmas? I have to say, this makes for a clever program. The girls love dancing to the music, looking at all the vibrant colors and now even tries to copy phrases. Great for learning and fun, with some holiday Ho-Ho-Ho for festivity.

The DVD case for Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure also has a great advent calender. The kids can countdown to Christmas with Dora! As well, the bonus features include 2 music videos, Jingle Bells’ and ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’.

The girls also got the Dora’s Christmas CD, with all the songs from the DVD. One of my girls’ favorite pastimes is to listen to CD’s in my oldest daughters’ room…and dance, and jump on the bed, and make a mess while they go all silly.
This CD made them do all of that, especially with the lively latin beat in all the classic songs. The kids just love it! I’m sure this CD will be played many times in the next couple of months!

Three {3} My Organized Chaos readers are going to get Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure on DVD

My kids and I loved to visit the seasonal department this time of year, usually every time we are at the store. We get our house decorated at the beginning of Dec, with the kids help of course!

We love to listen to Christmas songs and read Christmas stories. In fact, this year I am really excited because I ran across a book titled, “Santa & The Little Teddy Bear” by Peter John Lucking, which is an original unique blend of tale, carols, music, song, and beautiful illustrations. It is more than just a picture book. I can not wait for the Christmas Season to begin!

I love fall because not only does our florida weather cool down but its like the dinner salad before the steak and lobster dinner which is Christmas. We love to do a countown to decorate, my 4 year old thinks its cool to count down to take all the fall down and put lights and the tree up so that usually starts the first of November. There is always Christmas music playing some fresh cookies bakes and we spend the whole day after Thanksgiving getting our home ready for the Christmas celebration!

Traditional my husband and I set up our tree and decorate the outside and enjoy a glass of wine or two while doing it. But now that I have twin toddlers I’m not sure what will happen..maybe a mad rush to get the decor up for the token pics and then pack it all away. I think we need a new tradition!
