My Twins were in heaven when they were presented with an award winning Smart Trike Deluxe, for review. You may be wondering, “What makes this trike so smart?”. It’s a unique 3 in 1 multi-featured tr
icycle which is designed for quality and functionality for a baby aged 10 months and up. This one trike can be changed so that it grows with your child, making it useful for more years than other trikes. This alone has me impressed, since my oldest daughter had already had 4 trikes since she started riding. So, the Smart Trike Deluxe is indeed a smart design and a very smart {frugal} purchase.
When the Smart Trike Deluxe arrived, assembly was fairly easy. The directions were easy to follow, and offered clear choices as to assembly depending on which age and development phase your child is in. Since my daughter are 24 months, I didn’t assemble according to the first configuration {for a 10+ month child}. Yet, if you choose this configuration, you’ll like the wrap around seat with safety straps and back support. This design also has a sun hood to limit sun exposure and a telescopic parent push handle.
Instead, I chose the second configuration for the Smart Trike Deluxe, intended for a 15+ month child. At this age the safety bar, the back support, and sun hood are not needed. And, I chose to not use the safety straps either, since my girls have great balance and coordination and are able to hold onto the handle bars. Yet, it still has the parent push telescopic handle since they cannot yet ride the trike alone. Yet, when the Twins do get older and more independent in riding, this trike easily converts to the 3rd ‘phase’ of the design. When I had the trike fully assembled, I really noted the sturdy all-metal frame. The company certainly didn’t cut corners when it comes to quality materials!
My girls have taken their turns on the Smart Trike Deluxe daily, they just love the little cup holder and telephone toy that is included on the bike. These accessories sure have provided a many hours of play and smiles. Also nice is the back bin {for storing treasures and toys} and a storage bag {which I use for my phone and keys while we’re on walks}.
The parent telescopic handle adjusts to many heights, so it’s at a comfortable height for myself or my taller husband. As well, it lowers to a height perfect for one of my Twins to push the other – and they do all the time. Now, you may be questioning the photos of the bike being pushed on the grass – by a 2 year old. I know as well as any parent that trikes are very hard to push on grass. Yet, this one is a breeze! Literally, my Twins push each other around on the grass all the time. It’s feels like when you push on the handle – you push the front wheel and not the entire weight of the bike. And, it’s easily steers left to right as well. Again, the Twins are able to do it themselves. The Smart Trike Deluxe also has a built-in clutch – so the ride control can be set for either the child peddling or the parent steering. Now, isn’t that smart?
You can purchase your Smart Trike Deluxe online, or in Toys R Us stores across Canada. Next time you are in a Toys R Us store, take it for a test drive!

I love the Scooter also, because it’s lightweight, which would mean that my preschool sidekick could carry it himself when we went out, if he got tired of riding it! (Or if he didn’t at least it would break my back to carry it and him…..:)
I like the Easy Ride on for 15 mnths+ Love the little tipping bucket on the front! What kid wouldn’t love that?! Great to see a seatbelt and bold colours!
