My Living Stories iTunes Apps Review & $25 iTunes Gift Card Giveaway

by Tammi on 07/18/2010 · 180 comments

www.myorganizedchaos.net,I recently just got an iPhone, and it’s been really fun seeking out great apps for myself and the kids. I cannot believe all there is out there! I have realized how handy kids’ apps are for those times when you need a good distraction. Running late for dinner, long waits at the doctors’ office, or just hearing ‘I’m Bored!’ while trying to get some grocery shopping done. Yep, kids’ apps have become quite the lifesaver for me. Alas, it is true that there is an app for everything, so it’s always nice to get some suggestions on recommended ones, and narrow down that search. Thanks to Mom Central and Decode Entertainment, my daughter and myself got to try a few new apps for my iPhone. Called My Living Stories, these apps are animated classic storybooks for either an iPhone or iTouch. My daughters’ got Princess and The Pea, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

www.myorganizedchaos.net,The My Living Stories apps that we tried have really nice artwork {just like if you had a book in front of you}, great narration and interactive features that keep kids well occupied {if you have microphone capabilities on your iPhone or iTouch, you can record your own voice to go along with the story}. These apps are so easy for my daughter to use on her own. Not only are they fun, interesting and keep the boredom at bay – but they allow her to read too. Since school is out for the summer and it’s been hard to get her to keep up with her reading and writing, this is a great way to practicewww.myorganizedchaos.net, those skills without making it seem like ‘schoolwork’. This was her first introduction to recording her voice on my iPhone, and she has a blast with it. Though I encourage her to read the words and record her narration of the story, she also likes to make up her own stories using the pictures displayed. It’s pretty funny to hear her take on these classics! As well, there is English and French versions too. Besides the three that we tried, My Living Story classic stories also include King Midas and The Tortoise & the Hare.
