For all dog lovers out there, Alliance Films is releasing a double feature on June 8th that will have kids and adults alike laughing! It’s a duo pack DVD of the movies
AIR BUD 2: GOLDEN RECEIVER and Bailey’s Billions,
and both movies star loveable golden receivers.
In AIR BUD: GOLDEN RECEIVER, Buddy is a Football-playing canine. You’ll remember him from 1997′s AIR BUD, where he was a basketball star. I cannot stress enough how much my kids love movies with ‘talking’ animals {especially dogs}. Especially the Twins, a movie with animals keeps their attention more than any other. Yet, since this is not a cartoon and has a storyline full of laughter and heartfelt moments, adults too won’t mind sitting down with the kids to watch.
AIR BUD 2: GOLDEN RECEIVER Synopsis: (ENGLISH) Buddy, the hoop-shooting, hotshot canine, tackles a new sport – football. When his teenage owner reluctantly becomes the school’s new quarterback, Buddy catches the spirit and joins the team. Soon, the two find themselves leading the Timberwolves to the state championship. But victory hopes are sidelined when two sinister Russian circus owners take a bite out of everyone’s plans and dognap Buddy for their star attraction.

Like I said earlier, this double feature DVD comes with another movie starring a courageous and adorable canine. When we sat down to watch Bailey’s Billions, a familiarity struck my daughter and I and it didn’t take us long to realize that we had seen this movie before. Months ago, it was on TV and we caught most of this movie at that time. We had really enjoyed it {especially my daughter}, so I was excited to now own it for the kids. This movie stars the hilarious Jennifer Tilly and Jon Lovitz, and I can’t help but to enjoy any movie that they are in. There are many funny lines and events in this movie that will have you chuckling. This movie is filmed in Toronto, Ontario {it’s always fun to spot familiar Canadian products in movies made in Canada}. As well, director David Devine, the writers and some cast members are Canadian too.
Bailey’s Billions Synopsis:
Bailey’s no ordinary dog. He can talk, at least to his trainer, animal communication expert Ted Maxwell, and he’s just inherited a fortune from his eccentric billionaire owner.
But two-legged expectant heirs Winston and Florence are outraged at the idea of “their” money going to a dog shelter, especially when they’re using the shelter as a front for a puppy mill – and they’ll stoop to anything to get their paws on what they believe is rightfully theirs!
