The Princess and the Frog | DVD giveaway

by Tammi on 03/11/2010 · 692 comments

Disney’s Princess and the Frog comes out onto DVD and Blu-ray this Tuesday, March 16th. We weren’t able to take my daughter to the theater to see this film, so she has been anxiously awaiting it’s release onto DVD. And by anxiously, I mean that she talks about it everyday. The buzz over this movie is astounding, considering that the lead heroine is the first new Disney Princess since Mulan {from 1998}. This new ‘Princess’ is named Tiana, and she’s the 9th to join Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Pocahontas, Jasmine and Mulan {in that order}. To celebrate the newest film and to welcome Tiana to the Disney family – there are some ‘secret’ scenes in the film that pay homage to the other Disney classics. For examples, watch for glimpses of Aladdin’s rug and lamp and a Mardi Gras float is modeled after King Triton from The Little Mermaid. And if you didn’t know – the setting for this movie is in New Orleans so we know that there will be lively music throughout {jazz, blues, gospel and zydec}.

My daughter is still waiting for her review copy of The Princess and the Frog, so a full review is to come at a later date…ok, ok, and I can’t wait to see it either, I admit!

One reader will get a copy of The Princess and the Frog 3 disc combo!

I love Jasmine. She was somewhat of a free thinker. However instead any marriage she just should have claimed Sultan and been done with it.
