You are so smart to have your kids start early with the chores or “duties”. The going rate for allowance just depends, I suppose. We like to have their own money, so they understand the value of something. When they were in the store when they were younger and really wanted something – I’d say “would you buy it with your own money??” They said “NO”, and I said alright then – you don’t need/want it that badly LOL

I bet your daughter will be an adorable Girl Scout! Or Brownie. I’m not sure which cookie you are talking about but they sound good. I don’t think I have met a Girl Scout cookie that I don’t like!

I love your camping story – that is too funny! Wow – took the awning right off huh?

Thanks for mingling!

I loved your mingle. You look so pretty! :)

We just started paying allowance. We give the kids a quarter per year old they are (i.e. brian is 6 so he gets $1.50 a week). We basically do this to give them an idea of successfully saving and give them some money when they want to buy Christmas gifts, etc.

Camping like the Griswolds – lol!

Happy Monday!

That’s a good idea with the money per age, Shannon. Maybe giving a wee bit would make my daughter save and stop asking for things when we are out – Maybe! LOL

It would have been really funny if she was behind you but I think you were safe! I hope that your daughter has a great time in brownies!!

I was waiting for you to sing the song that helps your twins clean up…we use:

Clean up! Clean up!
Everybody do your share…
Clean up! Clean up!
Everybody – Everywhere!

Happy Monday Mingle!

That’s fabulous that your kids are so helpful. Our toddler is the same way but I’m sure she’ll grow out of it like her big brother did. LOL

Girl Scout Cookie – you guys have ones with chocolate filling? Man, I’m missing out.

Yippee! You mingled! i love your lipgloss! You look so nice this week.
And then there was me who mingled in my nighty and robe. HA! I was comfortable in my robe and hot chocolate. YUM.

Griswald vacation! HA! funny. i love Chevy Chase.

Allowances- Depends on the chore. certain chores should be done cause you are a member of family but they can earn money for other chores…
Hope you have a great week! happy mingling!

Hello again! We don’t call them chores here either…just responsibilities. :) Regardless of the name, they ignore ‘em anyhow.

We had a song as well that went:

It’s Clean Up Time,
It’s Clean Up Time,
Put Your Toys Away.

(repeat until nauseous)

My wife loved Brownies and had fond memories so perhaps your daughter will love it as well. Worth a try!

Camping when pregnant with twins? Yeah, I don’t blame you for avoiding that!

Loved the mingle again and we’ll see you next week!

Hey in response to your question of what’s a koa? It a campground however we have them across the country and most of them have the same ammenities so when people see the name they know what they are paying for:) Thanks for stopping by I am so happy to be a part of this blogging community, everyone seems so friendly. Have a great week. Oh and I wish I had started my son young in the duties of the house so there wouldn’t be so many funny looks when he is asked to do something new:) lol

Wow the Clean Up song is popular. I never knew it until my oldest hit preschool. They sing it all the time there. Now my soon to be two year old sings, “Clean up” when he cleans too.

That’s great that the twins help when asked!

Konnor has a clean-up song he learned in preschool that he likes to sing when helping me clean up. Too cute!

I couldn’t imagine camping with one little one, much less two! I would have avoided that too. And being pregnant while camping? No thanks!

Happy Monday!!

It’s good to hear that your little one likes to help out-That should help in the future :)

I don’t remember a lot from when I was in Girl Scouts/Brownies, but I DO remember that they had such a wonderful program for all of us, so I think your daughter will like it! It’s definitely something to try out :)

I have to agree with you on camping-We don’t necessarily go CAMPING camping, but when we go on our vacations or whatever SOMETHING always happens. LOL

Great video!! Hope you have a fantastic week :)

Great mingle. You’re really pretty. Love your eyes.
What a life must be like where clean up isn’t a fight!!!
I can’t complain, too much. She is her mother’s daughter. :)
Great mingle, thanks for sharing.

I always look forward to Monday Mingles :D I used to be so nervous about doing them though!

I love that your daughter likes to help out, I was like that as a kid too :) How cool that the twins will pick up their toys too!

I think Brownies is a fun thing for girls to try. I LOVE girl scout cookies but I like the Samoas.

We’re not a camping household but I always admire people who love to go camping because I think it’s awesome to be close with nature. I’m too prissy to camp LOL

I always love seeing other Canadians here too (and, of course, I’m already a big fan of your blog)!

It really does sound like we’re getting the short end of the stick when it comes to Girl Scout Cookies!! Everyone else had really yummy sounding cookies . . .

I wouldn’t want to go camping pregnant with one, much less twins. Like you, I think I’ll wait until my youngest is closer to two before venturing out camping again.

Have a great week :-)

We do have the same thoughts on chores. In my country they don’t have allowance, so I am not sure that will be apart of our family, unless it’s just something that seems to fit and we decide to incorporate it.

There was an awning on your truck?
I hope you do get to go camping again and I hope to go sometime.

I will have to try the cookies. Just to see how they are.

Lovely seeing you again.

Do have a great week!

Who wrote that clean up song??? I bet they’re wishing they made some money off that little jingle — everybody everywhere is singing it! lol…
