Chicken Soup for the Soul: NASCAR

www.myorganizedchaos.net,Of all the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, I was most excited about the NASCAR one. Since seeing a race live in 2007, my hubby and I have become huge fans. So, this was one book we know that we could both enjoy and really get into {and finding books that we’d both read are far and few between}.

Chicken Soup for the Soul: NASCAR: 101 Stories of Family, Fortitude and Fast Cars is a collection of personal stories from NASCAR drivers, their families, pit crews and the fans. The sections include: Lessons Learned, Dale, Behind and Beyond the Wheel, Never Give Up, Romance and Other Random Acts of Racing, Behind the Billboards, The Secrets to Success, Heroes Everyday and Otherwise, The Business of Speed, The Best Medicine, On (and Off) Track, and All in the Family. The stories are of perseverance, triumph, comebacks, and life. And just like seeing NASCAR in person, I was really inspired by this book. One story that stands out to be one of my favorites is ‘Father Knows Best’. It’s about a Dad pushing their sons to just do what they love to do, and to do it with everything they got. It’s about encouragement and support, and both a NASCAR fan and those who are not, can relate. You will also find a lot of humor in this book too, with stories of tricks that the drivers play on one another.

There are so many heartwarming and uplifting stories about love, friendship, and never giving  up – all from people who are both directly and indirectly involved with NASCAR. And I do think that you would enjoy this book, whether you are a NASCAR fan or not. As well, I think we all know someone that would love this book as a gift!
