Jericho Skin Care

When it comes to beauty products, I am sometimes stuck on whether 'new and improved science and technology' should be used? Or seasoned products that have been around forever, like maybe since the Roman times, or the biblical times...? The products I am referring to is those using minerals found in the Dead Sea. This natural wonder is 1,300+ feet below sea level and has soil that is so incredibly rich in minerals and salt - that it has been a favored by bath and spa products and cosmetic companies for centuries. The place itself is one hot spot for those wanting to relax and replenish the mind and body.
The minerals in the Dead Sea have been found to help with:

~ Maintaining water balance and hydration in the body
~ Repairing skin tissue as well as other skin disorders such as eczema, acne, rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, and skin tone to decrease wrinkles
~ Peeling away dead skin cells to reveal new healthy layers of skin
~ Improving blood circulation
~ Preventing surface allergens and bacteria
~ Inhibiting the release of harmful toxins under the skin’s surface
~ Soothing sunburns, arthritis, inflammation, and rheumatism
~ Assisting hair health by eliminating dandruff, dermatitis, and dryness for healthy roots
~ Relieving headaches, stress and fatigue by inducing relaxation

One brand that has been around for quite some time is called Jericho Skin Care and it can be found at Arabah Mineral Skin Care. Jericho has perfected the use of the rich soil from the Dead Sea so that you can benefit from the minerals from the comforts of home. I was sent some products, so I could test them out and spread the word. It was my first time trying Dead Sea products, so I was eager and excited.

The first is the Vanilla Body Butter - which has Dead Sea minerals, plant extracts, shea butter, Vitamins A & E, and natural oils. The first thing I noticed was the smell, and I think this is what natural vanilla should smell like. The Body butter is very thick, and looks like whipped butter. It covers thick and doesn't irritate my red and sore hands {like some lotions would make the areas burn}. It does very well at softening and hydrating the skin, and leaves such a nice fresh scent as well.

Next is the Dead Sea Black Mud Soap, which is a facial bar soap made from natural black mud from the Dead Sea. The mud is intended to purify, liven up and clean the skin, and is most beneficial on those with skin disorders such as acne. It's all natural and since it's mud - unlike anything I have tried at home. Yet I have to admit, I love washing my face with mud! When used on my face, my skin feels clean, healthy and not tight or dry.

I also got the Soothing Lavender Oil and Relaxing Salt Scrub, to slough off the dead layers of skin. Now, I have only used sugar salts in the past - so i was trying to compare the difference between those and a salt scrub. A salt scrub should be used when you have really dry and irritated skin {the granules are courser and therefore scrubs more off than sugar, in less time}. And, you use salt scrubs less often {2-3 times per month} on your skin than a sugar scrub {which can be done many times a week}, but watch out - any cuts on your skin will burn with a salt scrub. I use the Relaxing Salt Scrub on my very dry heels and elbows and it works wonderfully. Results are achieved faster than when I use a sugar scrub. And, the Lavender fragrance is very nice as well. The Relaxing Salt Scrub is also know to help circulation,
and adding moisture.

Arabah Mineral Skin Care offers luxurious gift sets, which would make a wonderful Christmas gift {or a treat for yourself}. They have many products for the entire body to help renew, restore and radiate skin. Millions of people from all over the world trust in the healing powers of the Dead Sea. Jericho packages it up, and Arabah Mineral Skin Care saves you the trip.

Arabah Mineral Skin Care is going to give one reader the same
3 products that I reviewed:
Vanilla Body Butter, Dead Sea Black Mud Soap
and The Relaxing Salt Scrub {ERV $70}

The Dead Sea is actually a Hebrew word Yam ha Maved, which literally means "Killer Sea." The only living creatures are bacteria. Great people from Aristole to Herod the Great to Cleopatra have bathed themselves in the mineral salts of the Dead Sea. I want to try the salts and see how they make my ski feel...

Interesting fact.....
The concentration of salt in the dead sea is to thick anyone can float in the water, even if you don't "know how" to float!

I needed a little history lesson (or geography or whatever). I was interested to learn that the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth (outside of the ocean, of course). This makes sense, but for some reason I thought Death Valley was the lowest...

Something I didn't know was that rich beauty secrets that lie within the ancient waters of the Dead Sea. At 1,300+ feet below sea level is a soil so rich in minerals, they have become highly sought after as beauty ingredients for skin care, bath and spa products, and cosmetics.
